Review: The Iron Raven – Julie Kagawa

Review: The Iron Raven – Julie Kagawa

The Iron Raven features Puck as the main character, and I feel like I have waited for his book since forever! What a pleasure to be back in Kagawa’s fairylands once more. And even more so to learn much more about Puck, and how he was often somewhat an outsider, but one who wanted to fit in – at least sometimes. There is trouble in Faerie, and this trouble is so big it might just be too much for Puck, the Iron Fey, and a new possible ally to fight the good fight. The Iron Raven shows a different side of Faerie, now that there is a specific place where the Forgotten have taken up residence. Ethan as their champion […]

Review: No Holding Back – Lori Foster

Review: No Holding Back – Lori Foster

No Holding Back is the first book in a new series by Lori Foster, and it blew my socks off! Sterling and Cade were intriguing and realistic characters I loved getting to know. No Holding Back is about a strong female character, Sterling, who had been through literal hell when she was in her late teens. I have a trigger warning on my Goodreads review just in case… However, using her earlier trauma as a strength in order to fight evil is what she does. Not only does she do it well, she also works alone. Sterling is not a trusting person, but she always feels good when she goes to Cade’s bar after work. It’s the only place where […]

Review: Archangel’s Sun – Nalini Singh

Review: Archangel’s Sun – Nalini Singh

In Archangel’s Sun, an Archangel who is known for being strong, and an artist who is thought to be weak have to fight the reborn together to save the world. Archangel’s Sun in which Singh so totally did it again! I have loved her Guild Hunter series from the start, and even now, after all this time, it keeps getting better with each book! I mean, Brandee, my co-blogger (or blogger-wife) and I face-timed tonight, when I was at around 60% through the novel, and I kept telling her that Titus and Shari were screaming at me to hang up with her and keep up with their story 😉 Shari is the Hummingbird – Illium’s illustrious, artistic, but apparently broken […]

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Bowen totally did it again! Lies and Lullabies is a fantastic story – where there is a meet cute at first, and then, a few years later a possibility of a second chance. When Jonas and Kira first met in Lies and Lullabies, they formed a nice friendship that felt safe for both of them. They both tried to ignore the strong attraction and the hot chemistry between them, and it worked. Mostly. However, on Jonas’ last night there, Kira managed to persuade him to let her have her way with him. And what a glorious way it was! Lies and Lullabies is much more than a romance, though, because there is so much hurt in both Jonas’ and Kira’s […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Bossy Brothers: Tony – J.A. Huss

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Bossy Brothers: Tony – J.A. Huss

Tony blew my mind! I loved how things really weren’t what they seemed, and also the fact that we were back in Fort Collins with characters from prior Huss stories in the background. I, too, loved how Huss took us in a direction we weren’t anticipating (although, is that really unexpected with her?!? LOL) and it was PERFECT. And being back in FoCo was like coming home. 😉 I loved that Tony could surprise me and that this book took a direction that was not exactly unexpected, but rather unconventional. What is your first impression, Wifey? I was definitely surprised by the direction this story went but thrilled at the same time. In the EOBS, Huss said that she took […]

Review: The Gilded Wolves – Roshani Chokshi

Review: The Gilded Wolves – Roshani Chokshi

The Gilded Wolves is an intricate fantasy set in an alternate historical Paris, where Sèverin and his friends follow mysterious clues to try to salvage their future. The Gilded Wolves hit all the right spots for me! The fantasy elements really spoke to me, the forging being almost magical, in that some of the characters could infuse objects to do different things. There was also a mysterious order, where the matriarch or patriarch of a family had to wear a special ring that was more or less embedded to their finger. The Characters were well rounded – I loved Sèverin, Tristan, Enrique, Hypnos, Zofia and Laila all had their flaws, but they all had their strengths, too. The Gilded Wolves […]

Review: The Player Next Door – K.A. Tucker

Review: The Player Next Door – K.A. Tucker

Second chance at love is one of my favorite romance tropes, and The Player Next Door depicted a beautiful story between two people who had been apart for 13 years, and who still had obstacles in their path. The Player Next Door was a fun, cute, hot and flirty story, and I loved Scarlet and Shane from the beginning. I also loved Scarlet’s friends, Justine and Becca, they brought both comic relief and friendship to the table, and they were definitely there for Scarlet. At first, Scarlet was angry at seeing Shane again, and she was sure there was no way she could ever trust him again. However, he was very good at flirting, and being a good guy, now […]

Review : The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

Review : The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

The Boyfriend Project is one of the most heartfelt, real, most adorable romances I have ever read! The Boyfriend Project was my first novel by Ms. Rochon, and I’m now a huge fan of hers. This novel is one of my top five favorites in 2020, both because it’s very well written, and because the female friendships started because of a very unfortunate situation for three women. Samiah working in a male-dominated universe also made her so strong, not because she wanted to be strong, but she had to be strong to succeed. In comes Daniel, a new colleague with a big secret, which is when The Boyfriend Project took on a romantic aspect as well. Even if both Samiah and […]

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

The Summer Deal is a beautifully written romance where regret is one of the themes, and forgiveness is another one. The Summer Deal showed me once more why I’m such a fan of Shalvis’ writing! The characters made the story here, and the way they all had their difficulties to deal with made them very realistic. From the outside, other people’s lives can seem so simple and put together, but once we get a peek behind the scenes, we realize that’s not the case at all. Brynn had a good childhood in many ways, however, she had hidden certain things from her mothers in order to protect them. Never letting them know how difficult camp was, or how some kids […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ After the Climb ~ Kristen Ashley

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ After the Climb ~ Kristen Ashley

You know my feelings about second chance romance, wifey, so I’m sure it’s not a surprise that I adored After the Climb. But, then, it’s KA and she had a little help from friends 😉 in writing this one. Oh! And that it released on my birthday? Sweet!! Hmm… are you one of the friends who helped out with this one?  And you know I love second chance romance at least as much as you do! Plus, KA always makes all the feels come out 🙂    Okay, so that beginning was a doozy! I don’t know if I’ve ever disliked, dare I say hated, a character as much as I do Corey. I can’t imagine the myriad emotions that […]
