Review: Born of Fury (The League #7) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Born of Fury totally lived up to my expectations after reading the other The League stories! These crazy alien assassins and their mates truly made the story excellent! My Born of Fury review: Born of Fury is quite the brick of a book, but what a beautiful brick it is! I love the characters in The League series, they are aliens, living in a far-away galaxy, in a far-away future. And the male main characters are all warriors, fighting against a corrupt government organization of professional killer. However, they also have their families and loved ones to take care of, and they see their brothers-in-arms as true family as well. Hauk has always been treated as a lesser male by […]

Review: Illusion (Chronicles of Nick #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Illusion (Chronicles of Nick #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Illusion is the fifth installment in the Chronicles of Nick, and it picks up just after the ending of Inferno. And Nick is so confused when he finds himself at a party, with many of his friends present, but they all seem slightly different from usual. And he’s very different, he’s shorter, has blond hair and it seems Bubba is his dad. Talk about waking up in an alternate universe! What is most confusing to him, however, is the fact that he can’t feel his powers at all. I enjoyed myself all through the story of Illusion; Nick, even in a smaller and weaker body and with no powers to speak of, is a strong character, and he will fight […]

Review: Inferno (Chronicles of Nick #4) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Inferno (Chronicles of Nick #4) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Inferno is the fourth book in the Chronicles of Nick series, and it brought the whole story back on track for me. I wasn’t all that happy with Infamous, because that felt too much like a filler than an actual novel to me. With Inferno, though, my love for Nick and the whole Dark Hunter world made sense again, even if I’m still not completely happy with the time-travel aspect of the story. Yes, yes, I know, it’s fiction, and time travel cannot even happen in the real world. But still, most stories that deal with time travel follow some time/space continuum rules, that are not followed in the Chronicles of Nick, and it confuses me! Subscribe to Blog via […]

Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

The League series is always filled with surprises, amazing fights and a real love story. Born of Silence follows the other books in the series, and the characters from all the other books are present in this volume, to my great delight. There were a lot of new revelations in this book, and I felt so bad for Darling, it almost hurt to read about his childhood. Then, again after he was taken by the insurgents and nobody realized who he was, I have to admit my heart was breaking into a million pieces. I don’t know how he could get through that at all. Of course, Darling wasn’t completely sane after that for quite some time, but when he […]

Time Untime (Dark Hunter #22) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Time Untime (Dark Hunter #22) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Time Untime – book 22 in one of my favorite series was quite different from the rest of the books in some ways, and very similar in others. The biggest difference for me was that I didn’t really love Ren all that much 🙁 I get that his extremely long life has been difficult, and that he has never known love, but the self-loathing was really hard to read about, and made it less enjoyable to read than I would have liked.  I totally loved Kateri, though, and both Ash and Nick showed up to save the day, and I love both of them as well, so there were lots of things to like in this instalment, even if there […]

Review: Infamous (Chronicles of Nick #3) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Infamous (Chronicles of Nick #3) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Infamous was not as satisfying as I had hoped it would be when I started reading. It really felt like a filler book. There was not a lot of progress being made, Nick was younger than in the other instalments, and he was learning little by little what his powers were, or would become. Also, neither Nick or the readers know who he can trust, except for the obvious people, being his mom, Acheron and Kyrian. At the same time, knowing that Nick from the future is coming to give advice to young Nick in the book it is difficult to know exactly how the relationship between Ash and Nick will develop. I usually love it when someone is able […]
