It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
Welcome to It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? This is a meme hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey; and I think it is great to start the week with what I’m reading right this minute, and what I’ll be reading (or planning on reading, anyway) for the rest of the week.
Please visit Sheila’s blog to sign up on her linky, that way you will have other Monday bloggers coming to visit you as well.
Last week, I read the following book:
The Iron Traitor (Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2) by Julie Kagawa. It was really good – with a horrible cliffhanger! And I gave it 5 stars.
Right now, I’m reading:
Sanctuary by Pauline Creeden. It’s about aliens come to earth, attacks and survival. I’m reading this for a blogtour I’m participating in.
Next up, I’m planning on reading:
I don’t have any plans at all – so it’s going to be a mystery next Monday 😉
Here’s what happened on (un)Conventional Bookviews last week:
Review: Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampire) – Larissa Ione
Blogtour: Fated Truth – Tasha Gwartney
Blogtour and Review: Undercover Lover – Jamie K. Schmidt
Blogtour, Giveaway and Review: Carrots – Colleen Helme
Blogtour and US Giveaway: Targeted – Kate Reus
Review: Wild Child – Molly O’Keefe
Feature and Follow #60 – Favorite Picture Books
Giveaway and New Cover Reveal: Untethered – Katie Hayoz
This past week was quite quiet reading-wise for me, as classes started again, and I was utterly exhausted when the weekend arrived, so I didn’t even do my Sidekick Showcase. I might still get that one up during the week, though.
What did you read last week? Do you have any recommendations for me? Please leave me a link so I can come check out your It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? post 🙂 Thanks for stopping by today, have a great week, and happy reading.
I hate it when books leave you with cliffhangers and you have to wait for the next one in the series and with this one not even being released officially it is probably going to take a while.
Have a great week and I hope you will be able to find a rhythm soon!
This cliffhanger was actually pretty logical, though, Ciska, and it didn’t really upset me all that much. I know that doesn’t make sense, especially because I usually hate cliffhangers.
Thanks for stopping by!

I just finished a debut novel for middle graders called Sky Jumpers by Peggy Eddleman and it was pretty good. I can’t wait to read her next book.
Now I am reading Mister Max and the Book of Lost Things by Cynthia Voigt and Iacopo Bruno. I just started it last night so I am not sure about it yet.
Also I have been checking out All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill. The beginning is a bit slow, but I have heard a lot of good things about it so I hope it get’s better. 🙂
That sounds pretty nice, Stormi! I’m glad you’ve read a first in a series and want to continue 🙂 I really need to read Legend (or maybe it’s the 2nd book I haven’t read yet? I’m confused).
Thanks for stopping by!
The Boggart by Susan Cooper.
After a long lost great unlce dies a Canadian family inherits his castle in Scotland. While they love the castle they decide to sell and stay in Canada, but take a few choice items home with them. Unbeknownst to them the family Boggart (a spirit created of wild old magic who likes to play tricks) comes with them hidden in Emily’s roll-top desk.
Emily and her brother get into a lot of trouble because of the Boggart’s actions, but eventually come to understand who he is.
I have 90 pages to go. But the author had me emotionally tied to the Boggart in chapter one, so much so that I cried experiencing his grief at his friend’s (the uncle’s) passing. We’re talking tears dripping off my chin crying in 13 pages of material.
WOW, after only a few pages you cried? That has to be pretty awesome writing, Xyra!
Thanks for stopping by :)*hugs*
Yeah, I was shocked. But then old magic and the Scottish Highlands with funeral procession including a lone piper…
*hugs*
Old magic, and a lone piper, eh? Sounds interesting 🙂
Hiya, Lexxie! I hope you had a lovely weekend – that included a big glass of wine! 🙂 I hope your classes are going well so far.
I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Iron Traitor and Sanctuary. I just finished reading Taliesin Ascendant – the second in a series. It was exciting! And I also read Breathless (review tomorrow) which was only okay. And right now I’m reading Addicted to Ansley, and it’s great!
I hope you get some good reads in this week – I’m always up for a mystery. 😉 Happy Monday, my friend! *hugs*
My weekend was great, but I didn’t do much more than sleep :O I was exhausted… I’m all better now, though, but I have some syntax stuff to read, plus a book on semantics 🙂 I want something light and paranormal. Hopefully, I’ll have time for a couple of those as well.
Thanks for stopping by Brandee <3 *hugs*
Yes, I hope you have time for a few light/fun reads to break up the monotony of semantics, Lexxie!! 🙂
I truly understand you, Lexxie. I was inactive for the last few days because I also concentrated on reading. And there are also IRL things that I need to settle. I even forgot to post my Sunday Feature. I was really determined to finish a lot of books.
And yay to Iron Traitor. I will have to include the Iron Fey series on my TBB list and read it for myself. :p
And good luck to your classes. I hope you had a very relaxing weekend. 😀
I’m glad I’m not the only one being a little less active lately, Charlotte. I promise I won’t disappear, though 🙂
Oh, yes, The Iron Fey series is awesome! I hope you’ll enjoy it.
I’ve got Iron Traitor coming up soon and I’m glad you’ve rated it so highly but arggh to cliffhanger, how cruel lol
Have a good week and happy reading whatever you manage to squeeze in with life being full 🙂
Yes, cliffhangers are totally cruel! But this one made an odd kind of sense. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
