It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Welcome to It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? This is a meme hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey; and I think it is great to start the week with what I’m reading right this minute, and what I’ll be reading (or planning on reading, anyway) for the rest of the week.

Please visit Sheila’s blog to sign up on her linky, that way you will have other Monday bloggers coming to visit you as well.

Last week, I read the following books:

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira. It’s a beautiful story, written in an epistolary fashion, and it’s very deep and sad.

Escape in You by Rachel Shürig is a dark New Adult romance, well written and gripping.

Cowboys and Kisses by Sasha Summers is a sweet contemporary YA romance, but it also deals with guilt, grief and sorrow.

Fire Inside (Chaos #2) by Kristen Ashley is a hardcore contemporary romance with mature characters, lots of steam, and amazing character growth.

A Matchless Romance (Aisle Bound #4) by Christi Barth is a cute contemporary romance, with a sexy video-game designer geek and a gorgeous matchmaker.

Wake to Darkness (De Luca and Brown #2) by Maggie Shayne is a fast-paced contemporary thriller/suspense/romance, and I was swept off my feet!

Right now, I’m reading :

Reprisal (The Time Weaver Chronicles #3) by Thomas A. Knight – it’s being released today! And it’s awesome! Time travel, fantasy, epic world and amazing characters.

Next up, I’m planning on reading:

Some ARCs – I am participating in the March version of COYER (Clean out your e-reader) challenge hosted by Berls of Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle of Because Reading is Better Than Real Life. I haven’t exactly planned what books to read yet, though, because as soon as I make a list – I don’t want to read any of the books on said list. It’s not too late to sign up! You can do so until March 8th 2014, and the rules are pretty simple. You can read e-books only, the books you read have to be either free (as in free for kindle or nook), ARCs or books that cost less than $5. It’s a great way to work through those books that are all too easy to one-click – because FREE or CHEAP! And it’s also a lot of fun to participate in this challenge, where other bloggers also host mini-challenges to spice things up in March.

Here’s what happened on (un)Conventional Bookviews this past week:

    • Yeah, I have so many things I have no choice but to read for classes, so I want my read-for-fun time to be free 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by, Robyn!

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Ooh nice! Those are new to me! Yeah I plan on doing the COYER Challenge too. Especially since I just added another 2 ebooks. My goal now might be 7. I have probably a few more on there, but not sure if I am in the mood to read them. I like to be able to knock out the physical ones on my TBR pile because then it at least looks like I made a dent in them!

    Happy Reading!

    Here’s my Monday Wrapup

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • I can totally understand wanting to make a dent in your actual physical TBR pile, Jessica. I hardly have any physical books anymore, and since my click-finger is trigger-happy, I always end up with way too many e-books every week.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I haven’t got into e books for that reason, I just can not find time for them when I am surrounded by real books. I want to as they have some wonderful offers, I just know that unless I take myself out of the real book area… it will sit on my e reader forever.

    Have a super week 🙂

    • If I could get actual physical books here, at the same time as they are released in the US, I might not have switched to e-books, either, Sheila. But since it sometimes takes over a month, and I’m very impatient, that just won’t do. Also, books cost at least the double here – so I am able to get more books this way.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a super week yourself 🙂

  3. I started a new book by a local author.
The Insider’s Story (A Lance Carter Detective Novel) by Bruce A. Sarte
It has odd spacing and huge margins, but the first chapter really caught my attention because it starts with a drive by shooting near the Moshulu…so the setting is drawing me in. 🙂

    • It’s awesome when you read a book, and you actually know where the story is happening 🙂 I’m glad you’re enjoying it, Xyra!

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  4. Reprisal is really good so far! I have truly enjoyed the first two books in this series, too. It’s a mix of high fantasy, magic, time travel and contemporary.

I can’t wait to start The Undead Pool!!! I’m happy to know you love it 🙂
