Review: The Immortal Crown (Age of X #2) – Richelle Mead

*I received a free ARC of The Immortal Crown from Dutton Adult in exchange of an honest review* The Immortal Crown lets the readers know Mae a lot better, and seeing how different Gods are wooing her makes her seem more human, in a way, and more likable. Therefore, the story here is much better than Gameboard of the Gods in my opinion, and there are several reasons for this. One reason is that the world makes more sense in The Immortal Crown, and since Age of X is set in an epic fantasy world, it is easy to understand why the second book makes more sense. I also enjoyed Mae and Justin both more in The Immortal Crown than […]

Review: The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4) – Richelle Mead

The Fiery Heart exceeded all my expectations! Well written, of course, and so much character growth, but a terrible cliffhanger in the end! I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait until Silver Shadows is released in July next year! But let me start with the beginning! At the end of The Indigo Spell, Zoe, Sidney’s sister is transferred to room with Sydney and be a second Alchemist making sure Jill stays safe. This, of course thwarts Sydney and Adrian’s budding relationship, but not as much as it could have. To see Sydney thorn between her need to spend time with Adrian, and her need to try to make her sister happy was well done, too, and I grew […]

Review: Gameboard of the Gods (Age of X #1) – Richelle Mead

*I received a free ARC of Gameboard of the Gods from Dutton Adult via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review* Gameboard of the Gods is about a world where religion is all but forbidden, after religious extremists almost destroyed all humanity. Mae and Justin need to work together to make sure a religious war won’t happen again. The premise holds so much promise, with a very strong woman, both physically and mentally, different mythologies, a gruesome murder mystery as well as family drama. I went into this story with pretty high expectations – I love the author, usually adore her books, and I really looked forward to reading an adult mystery with lots of mythology. Sadly, Gameboard of the […]

Review: The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) – Richelle Mead

Oh, Adrian, how you grew in The Indigo Spell, I start to understand those who loved you dearly in Vampire Academy better and better with each Bloodlines book! Sydney also made some changes in The Indigo Spell, she understood more about the Alchemists, and also more about her own powers. It was really wonderful to read about the new adventures our merry little gang of vampires, dhampirs and alchemists went through. Both Sydney and Adrian continued to grow, as they had started to already in The Golden Lily. Review: The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) – Richelle Mead

Review: The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) – Richelle Mead

The Golden Lily actually surprised me in a very good way! I was a little cautious before I started it, because I had heard rumors of a love triangle, and I hate love triangles in my books. I wish I hadn’t listened to those rumors, because I would have read this long before I actually did. Sydney continues to be herself in this story, and at the same time, she lets herself grow as well, even when what she wants to do seems to be against her Alchemist beliefs. She takes a stand, and decides that she needs to be able to protect herself if she is to protect others as well. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email […]
