Review: Maybe Not – Colleen Hoover

Review: Maybe Not – Colleen Hoover

Maybe Not is a quick read, in which I got to know Warren a lot better, and seeing him and Bridgette in a slightly different light from how they were described from the outside in Maybe Someday. My Maybe Not review: In Maybe Not, we get Warren’s point of view of everything that happens, and while I really enjoyed Warren in Maybe Someday, I found that I enjoyed him a little less when I was basically inside his head. I think he comes from a good place most of the time, but he also overstepped some boundaries that really ought not to be overstepped. Bridgette gained a lot of depth through his eyes, and that was a very nice change. […]

Review: Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover

Review: Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover

Ugly Love is so full of feels! There is love, hope, devastation, loss, hopelessness, distraction… You name it – I felt it! My Ugly Love review: It has taken me several weeks to finally review Ugly Love. That is because even now, I feel like crying when I think about this heart-wrenching story! I cried the biggest ugly tears I have ever cried while reading a book. The story is so well done, especially because it is written in dual points of views, both from Tate’s and Miles’ point of view. However, the chapters written in Miles point of view are a lot shorter, and I didn’t get to know him any better than Tate did. And I thought the […]

Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

When I first read Hopeless, I think it became my favorite Colleen Hoover story, because it is so very deep, and so very gritty, and my emotions were all over the place because Sky and her past were unraveling so very slowly. And I adored both Sky and Holder, and I was fond of Six, too, even if she didn’t stay for the whole story. Listening to the audiobook brought all my feelings from Hopeless even more to the surface! I was crying two rivers on the bus one day on my way to Uni, and I would have much rather stayed on the bus all the listening to the story than going to class. Angela Goethals narrates Hopeless beautifully, […]

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Maybe Someday is a book I gave four stars to when I read the ARC just before it was released. I was a little bit hung up with the cheating, thinking of cheating and waffling on both Ridge’s and Sydney’s parts. Especially because I enjoyed Maggie and I felt so bad for her, even if Ridge and Sydney never actually crossed the line and did cheat. However, listening to Maybe Someday, with a male and a female narrator made the experience very different. I was drawn into their conflicting feelings, and the way they were both holding back for fear of hurting Maggie, even as they were hurting themselves. And since each chapter is from either Ridge or Sydney’s point […]

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

I fell in love with Ms. Hoover’s writing when I read Slammed a while back, and after that, I continued reading all of her stories, and I am always somewhat mesmerized by the writing, the characters and the way the story draws me in completely. So when I discovered Audible, I decided I wanted to listen to some books that I thought would be even better when narrated in a good way. As I have already reviewed the written copy of Slammed, I will concentrate on the narration in this review, and it might be quite a bit shorter – this is my first ever audiobook review, and I can only say I was completely thrilled! Listening to a story […]

#COYER Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

#COYER Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

*I received a free ARC of Maybe Someday from Atria Books via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Maybe Someday is a beautifully written contemporary New Adult romance, and, as usual the prose and the music are big parts of the story. Sydney thinks she knows all about heartache when she finds herself outside in the rain, on her birthday, after confronting her best friend and her boyfriend about their sneaking around behind her back. I truly loved how Sydney dealt with her back-stabbing friends before she packed her bags and left. Luckily for her, Ridge from across the courtyard has one of his roommates bring her up to his apartment and lets her stay until she gets her […]

Review: Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) – Colleen Hoover

Review: Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) – Colleen Hoover

Finding Cinderella is a novella in the Hopeless series, and as usual, I just love Ms. Hoover’s writing! Daniel is shown in a very different light in Finding Cinderella, he is much more than the best friend with the big mouth and the stupid nick-names here. It was also very nice to get to know Six better. And I really enjoyed seeing this more fragile side to her, since the little we see of her in Hopeless doesn’t really help the readers understand her very well. As usual, the writing is just beautiful, and I thought it was all going to be taking me to a wonderfully happy place, until *BAM* something is revealed that just might change everything. And […]

Review: Losing Hope (Hopeless #2) – Colleen Hoover

Review: Losing Hope (Hopeless #2) – Colleen Hoover

*I received a free ARC of Losing Hope from Atria Books via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Holder has been losing hope ever since that fatal day when he watched his little neighbor walk towards a car and leave with a stranger. After a news cast dubbed him ‘the boy who lost Hope’ his family stopped watching the news all together. Colleen Hoover has another masterpiece with Losing Hope. All the while showing the readers Holder’s inner thoughts and sharing some of the same moments that we know from Hopeless, there are things happening both before and after the narrative of Hopeless, and there are things Holder did that Sky never knew about, so there was a lot […]

Review: This Girl (Slammed #3) – Colleen Hoover

Review: This Girl (Slammed #3) – Colleen Hoover

*I received a free ARC of This Girl form Atria via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* This Girl is such a wonderful book I’m almost at a loss for words! The third book in the Slammed trilogy continues after the last events in Point of Retreat, but there are some flashbacks when Will tells Lake about his feelings during the tumultuous start of their relationship. It is so beautiful to see how Will was feeling, and what he was thinking, from the first time he saw Lake arrive across the street, to much later in the story. I have to admit I was a little scared to read this book – how in the world could it live […]

Review: Hopeless – Colleen Hoover

Hopeless is as far from hopeless as it could possibly be! Rather courageous, strong, stubborn, beautiful and full of hope!
