Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #23
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, I’m again sharing a quote with a drink, and it’s from Hollywood on Tap (Sweet Salvation Brewery #2) by Avery Flynn. I finally got some more beer references in this second installment, and I loved it! I’m a big beer fan (yup, I don’t only enjoy a good wine or a glass of champagne!) so having a little more beer in this book made me happy 🙂
My Thirsty Thursday quote:
He laid the notebook on the table and flipped to a page filled with his cramped, printed writing. “Usually, a stout is an opaque black or brown with dark-red highlights. A typical dry stout has a roasted, grainy sharpness, a hint of unsweetened chocolate, and a bitter bite from the hops. The one I’m working on has a touch of an acidic sourness too.”
Natalie made the bitter-beer face, as if she’d just sucked a lemon. […]
“So you want something that’s sweet and sour.” He nodded, his gaze again dropping to her mouth. “Exactly.”
Don’t forget to link up! Thanks for stopping by today, have a terrific Thursday!

I am not much of a drinker but what a cool setting for a series – a brewery! Sounds like a good book. Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for hosting this meme!

It was a fun place to set the story, for sure, Daphne, and I absolutely love a good beer when it’s nice and warm outside 🙂

I like this scene a lot, Lexxie! I liked that Sean kinda brainstormed with Natalie about what he was trying to accomplish and how he was going about it. 🙂 And you know I’m a beer fan! 😉 James and I went to Kauai Brewing Company while we were there – it’s a microbrewery and you can only get their beer there. They don’t bottle it yet. It was really good! And James added new pint glasses to his collection. 🙂
Happy Thursday, my dear! I hope you’re getting in some beach time today! Wish I were too. **BIG HUGS**

Yeah, I liked Sean sharing his vision for the new beer, too, Brandee! Lucky you for being able to go to the Kauai Brewing Company! And I’m sure James is happy about his new pint glasses 😉
The beach is gorgeous, Brandee, and there aren’t too many people here yet, so that’s really nice 🙂 I hope we’ll be able to catch up very soon. *BIG HUGS*
