A Conspiracy in Belgravia cemented my opinion: I’m absolutely enamored with this series. The characters are charming, the mystery well-done…I was shocked at the reveals. SHOCKED! And the relationship between Charlotte and Lord Ingram is tender yet building towards something I’m desperately hoping for!

The mystery in this installment involved both Lord Ingram’s wife as well as Charlotte’s illegitimate brother. I’m quite certain all the clues were laid out but I was unable to connect the dots for this one. My curiosity was piqued, of course, but the reveal was shocking. I mean, I knew a little but the whole of it left me reeling. LOL

Besides the mystery, we have Lord Bancroft renewing his proposal to Charlotte, Livia meeting a young man who intrigues her, Inspector Treadles feeling very insecure, and the promise of more between Charlotte and Lord Ingram. All combined to keep me listening every moment I could and that I finished in about a week and a half says A LOT about how riveting this story is.

I will admit to being disappointed in Inspector Treadles. I know his feelings are those of the time period but that he is so prejudiced against females having powerful positions makes me sad. That he feels threatened by Sherlock being a woman as well as his wife possibly attaining ownership of her family business breaks my heart.

Charlotte and Lord Ingram? Well let’s just say that I hope something comes of the situation, their rapport, and the undisguisable feelings between the two. (I am nothing if not a romantic LOL) *fingers crossed* Of course, it won’t be easy but nothing worthwhile ever is.

A Conspiracy in Belgravia was a delightful addition to the Lady Sherlock series. Kate Reading does an impressive job with the narration. I’m smitten with all of it and am eager to start the next installment.
