Weekend Wrap-up #342 – Almost Summer Vacation

Posted 25 June, 2021 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 13 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #342

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves these past weeks:

Of course, I’ve purchased a lot of books as well – but I’m definitely too lazy to link them all up here. Just wanted to mention Million Dollar Demon (The Hollows #15) by Kim Harrison.

The Sunday Post #271 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

It’s been a very busy end of the year, and I’m so happy it’s almost all over now! We only have some meetings next week, and then it’s summer vacation. Everything has gone really well, and my students did mostly well on their exams, too.

I am staying in the same school next year, and I’m taking on some more responsibilities – I’ll be responsible for students with learning disabilities or who have specific needs that have to be accommodated by our school. I’ll even have an office 🙂

The mister and I went to Spain for a week while I was grading papers, that way, I motivated myself by saying I could go to the beach if I finished grading up until x point. I’m now starting to look into what I’m going to read with my students next year.

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

A nice stack of books for review. I really curious about JR Ward’s new werewolf series. Fun that you got to take the trip to Spain. LOL, nice bribe to get through your grading. Nice that you already got your assignment and responsibilities for next year so you can prepare and get used to it all with the new special ed responsibilities.

Enjoy that summer break when it comes, Linda!

  2. The Family Plot sounds amazing! Also, I’ve been dying to get my hands on The Dating Playbook. I loved The Boyfriend Project so much! And you’re still teaching?! We finished the third week of May. Now it’s just summer school, but we finish teaching that next week. ??

I only found out a couple of weeks ago that Jr Ward was starting a werewolf series… I’m curious as to how that goes! I hope you enjoy (and Million Dollar Demon! I love the Hollows).

Hope your last week in school is a good one.

Yay for the end of the school year!! Remind me, what age are you teaching now? I loved teaching our special needs kids (in Kinder so very different but still I’m sure you’ll find it rewarding)! And an office! Oh La la!

Enjoy your final – dare I say lighter? – week! Miss you bunches! Hugs ❤️

Ah, I love the dogs in action picture! Wow, you are just now getting out of school? Of course we will be starting back, teachers at least, the beginning of August, so that might be earlier than you guys start. Plus I’m switching to a new district this year, so I have to go back a little earlier for new teacher meetings. Hope you have a good week!

Hey there! I’ve missed hearing from you. Glad school is done and you had a nice getaway. I have two more days of work until I’m “done” for the summer (I’ll still be working but only here and there as needed for a few hours) We are good here – it’s been hot, but luckily we have air conditioners. Reading some fun books right now, too.
