Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #249
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you, JA Huss and J McClain, Kensington Books, and NetGalley!
Thank you Tantor Media!
I devoured this whole series – I absolutely adored Bright Side and Gus, while I found Franco to be a little so-so.
The Sunday Post #199 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
This week has been both awesome and exhausting! My classes at Uni started on Monday, so after work every day, and on Friday morning (I have Fridays off from work), I went to different classes and seminars. They’re all very interesting, and I have already found some things I can do or use to make my teaching better. I just really, really hope I’ll get into the rhythm of both teaching and learning very soon, though. There is just SO much to do!
My sister and my youngest niece came for a visit on Tuesday, and they’re leaving on Sunday. It’s so nice to see them both – even if I’ve left everyone behind to go to bed fairly early every evening 🙂

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
I loved Bright Side and Gus but still need to read Franco. Sounds like a busy week! Love the pup pics. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
I loved Bright Side and Gus, too 🙂 Bright Side almost killed me emotionally… I was a snotting mess by the end.
Oh wow you must be super busy! Hope it all goes well though. You will find a rhythm I’m sure.
Glad you’re having a good visit w/ family!
Aww Freddy… I can relate to the napping part lol.
Yeah, I am so busy, but it’s also interesting, you know? I hope you’re right that I’ll find a rhythm real soon.
I agree with you, Freddy and naps are the best combination 🙂
Once you reach that rhythm things won’t seem quite so crazy, but rest when you can is the best bet. It must have been good to see your family, and I bet they understood your early turn ins with all you have going on! Good luck! Your babies are sweet!
I know – but there are just that many hours in a day – and I need to be able to not stress about it.
It is always great to see family 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Tanya!
That’s nice to have Fridays off! Glad that things are going smoothly and such! Puppies are cute as ever!!
Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Yes, it is definitely nice to have Fridays off from work. It helps me get some things done 🙂
I also got The Wild Heir this week but it’s the e-book, not the audiobook. Although I’d love to read a Karina Halle audiobook sometime. I’m really getting into audiobooks these days!
Have a great weekend, Lexxie! ♥
YAY Stephanie 🙂 I hope we’ll both enjoy it. Karina Halle audios are pretty hot… But really good. I love listening to books on my commute!
Aw, I’m glad you had a nice visit with family! I love the new pup! LOL
I got a Karina Halle book for review too, but that one sounds interesting! I love her writing.
Have a great week!
Family visits are always great 🙂
Both pups have been with us for a while – no new ones on the horizon, Tonyalee.
Which book did you get?
Whew! You are definitely busy between work and school and family visit, but it sounds like a really good kind of busy when you get work and school into a rhythm. 🙂 I think I’ll take a nap with Freddy. LOL
Definitely a good busy – but I’ve been really tired. I hope I’ll feel up do speed soon! And I actually did take a nap with Freddy yesterday.
I have put off Bright Side for so long, because I have heard it’s really painful. I had gone to a con back in 2015, and Holden was one of the keynote speakers. She put together this reel of fan reactions to Bright Side, and it made me cry buckets.
It definitely is painful! But also beautiful. When you feel like an ugly cry would be OK, you should read it.
Enjoy your books…and your classes
Those puppies are getting so big! Have fun with them.
Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your new week.
Thanks Laurel-Rain 🙂 Hercules is almost double the size of Freddy… so their play fights now are very unfair!
Looks like a good haul and of course I love the puppies in action!
Thanks Barb!
Nice book haul. Enjoy. Have a great week!
Thanks Angela, you, too!
I hope you get it all acclimated so it feels more comfortable. I know I am with you on the exhausted. I’m really looking forward to a week off in October. I’ve also got plenty of great things to read. I hope you fit in some relaxing and free reading. Anne – Books of My Heart
I hope so, too, Anne. But no matter what, I see a lot of work in my future!
I do need to fit in some relaxing and reading – because if I don’t, I think I won’t make it.
These look like some fun reads.
Check out what I got this week – Ashley @ Oh Hey! Books.
🙂 They do, I agree.
I hope you settle into things soon. It sounds exhausting. Hercules sounds like he’ll keep Freddy young:)
I hope so, too!
LOL, Hercules keeps most of us running – he always wants to play.
I have never ever heard of Kim Holden. I am off to check her out, see what I’ve been missing apparently. And yeah, Jake and I are still trying to get in the swing of school this year, too. We’ll all get there eventually I’m sure!!
You definitely should check her out, Kristin! Very good – and very sad 🙂
Getting the swing of things can be so hard! But you’ll make it – and so will I!

Lexxie fear not in a few weeks your body WILL adjust to your new schedule. When my son was first born I would fall asleep with him at 7.30pm as I would be so tired, now I sleep alot later as I’m no longer as drained from parenting duties ?
Angelica @ Paperback Princess
Intellectually, I definitely know that, however, being exhausted is no fun! I’m glad you’re getting used to all your parenting duties, Angelica! <3

I actually signed up for a Coursera class and haven’t even looked at it xD it’s going to happen today, I guess. Or I’ll at least try to make it happen 😀
Awww even Freddie is tired and sleepy! Cute 🙂
Have a great week 🙂
I have a chapter to read on pedagogy for tomorrow – and I also have 40 tests to correct *sighs* I will get there!
Have a great week yourself 🙂
Good luck balancing being a student and a teacher. Hope the semester goes off without a hitch!
Thanks Nicole, I think I’ll need it! I hope it will, too – and my classes at Uni are very interesting, so at least there’s that 🙂
I hope your schedule evens out soon.
I’m sure your family understands, a little time is better than none. 🙂
Freddy has the right idea. Have a great week!
eh, my grad school lasts two years, and last week was the first week 🙂 I’ll get used to it, I’m sure!
Freddy always has the right idea – naps are the best!
ALL THE BEST for your classes and I hope you will fall into the rythm very soon.
On you weekend post every week, I get to see your pups and they totally make my day!
Thank you Gayathri! I hope I will, too! I don’t enjoy feeling so exhausted.
I’m glad the pups make your day – I don’t know what we’d do without them.

Seems like you had a busy week. When the family comes, it is always nice but it is definitely busy. But I glad you loved your time. And don’t worry about going to sleep early. I am sure they would understand it too.
All the books are new to me but I hope you enjoy them all 🙂
It’s always nice to see family, that’s for sure. And my sister is very understanding – and since she has a baby, she was all for going to bed early as well 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Sim.
It sounds like you have an exhausting schedule. I hope that it does not last for long!
It is exhausting – and it will last for two years 🙂
Oh I remember how exhausting going to school and teaching school was! Hopefully you adjust soon. Have a good week and enjoy your new books!
At least I know you survived – as did my colleagues 🙂 So I’m sure I’ll make it, too 😀
I hope I adjust soon, too. It’s nice to feel awake and alert during the day 😉
Yes…this week was pretty exhausting for me since I moved to a new apartment. Glad you survived though!! 🙂
I need to read more of Nalini Singh’s books! I’ve only read Silver Silence but LOVED it. I want an alpha changeling bear!! Lol.
I also love the puppy pictures!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Wow! You sure had a busy week! Hope you have a great week!

It took some time ?
The Wild Heir looks good, I like Karina Halle’s books usually. 🙂
Good luck finding your rhythm with your uni classes and teaching! A couple more weeks and it’ll become your normal.
