Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #246
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
See how well I did? Only one book – I think it’s a new record.
Magic Triumphs was one of my most anticipated releases for this year, and power-couple Andrews blew me away! It was such a perfect ending to the the Kate Daniels series!
The Sunday Post #196 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
The first week of school was exhausting! I had forgotten how hard it is to be ‘on’ all the time in class 🙂 I have met all my new students, and I think we’re going to have a great year together. And I have to get used to this rhythm as soon as possible, as my Uni classes start in two weeks.

BookBinge has a list of Books to Binge on in September, and it’s yummy!
The Bookish Wormy has done a great Beauty and the Beast Tag this week, definitely worth checking out!
Kristina @ Books and Dachshunds wonders: Do DNF Books Count as Finished Books?
Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
School is starting everywhere! I find I don’t really miss those days! I like being able to read my books when I want to and not have to worry about papers and all that homework! LOL.
Nice new read! Sadly never could get into that series but was always happy to see so many others did enjoy it! Hope you enjoy this one too!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I loved meeting my new students, and also catching up with colleagues. It was a very tiring week, however.
I’m kind of sad you didn’t get into the Kate Daniels series, Jessica – it’s one of my favorite PNR series.
Kudos to you for getting it all done, despite the exhaustion, and there’s sure nothing wrong with a little puppy love this weekend! Hugs…RO
Puppy love makes everything better! 🙂

You are going to be very busy with Teaching and Classes just make sure to take care of yourself at the same time. Give those puppies a squeeze for me! 🙂
Have a great week, Lexxie! Miss you lots and lots! Happy Reading!
Yeah, I’m going to be extremely busy. I will just have to get used to it, I guess 🙂 Of course I’ll give the puppies a squeeze for you 😀
Miss you lots too, Michelle! Xoxo
Back to school is always tough. The whole getting back into the routine can be hard after so much time off. Sounds like it won’t be too hard as you feel positive about your students. I love how Hercules strikes such a regal pose like a pro. Great picture.
It’s definitely hard getting back into the routine, but I’m really happy about it, too.
Hercules is so funny, every time I take my phone out, he’ll strike a pose 😀
Glad your students are a great group and hopefully you’ll get in the swing of things quickly.
Magic Triumphs was a must read for me, too.
Look at Freddy lounging. 🙂
I’m sure I’ll get into the swing quickly, and then, I’ll have to get used to more classes as a student 🙂
Magic Triumphs was the BEST series ending. I was sad it’s over, but it was still a fantastic read.
I only got one library book this week, with nothing in my mailbox! I only have two NetGalley books to read…October releases. I hope to tackle my TBR shelves now.
Enjoy your week…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
YAY for small hauls, Laurel-Rain 🙂 I have several older ARCs I need to get to, but that’s fine 🙂
Yes that first week back to teaching is a whole other level of exhausting! I just finished week 2 and am finally not needing a nap as soon as I get home. But, I also got sick this week. Boo!
Have a great week!
I’m glad needing a nap will be less present in the second week, Samantha! I hope you’ll get better quickly! Have a great week yourself 🙂
From what I’ve seen so far it seems like people are liking the Kate Daniels conclusion, which is nice! And I can only imagine how tough a first week is, when you’re teaching! Glad it went well otherwise though.
Hope you have a nice weekend Lexxie. 🙂
It was awesome, Greg! If you’ve read the series, though, you should read Iron & Magic before you read Magic Triumphs…
I hope your second week will be less exhausting, Lexxie! In Belgium school starts on monday again. I already feel sorry for my little brother but also excited because he’s going to his second year in secondary school. And he’ll be starting to take the public bus to school on his own this year as well. Why do they grow up so fast. *sobs*
I hope so, too, Stephanie 🙂 I’m sure you’ll little brother will feel the difference, too, next week. Growing up is part of the game 🙂 My kids have started back with their studies, too, and it’s nice to see them settling in 🙂
aww thank you for including my post !!
We start school on tuesday here, as monday is a holiday for us (though I open the store, aha!) – hopefully you get use to it pretty quickly 🙂 the weeins are so adorable in thoses pictures -aah !
You’re welcome Kristina 🙂
I am sure I’ll get used to it quickly – it’s just hard the first week – being in teacher mode means being completely attentive all the time 🙂
I love my weenies, they’re the best!
Magic Triumphs should be good! I haven’t read it yet, but given it’s an Ilona Andrews book, it has to be, right? 🙂 Welcome back to school! It sounds like you had a good first week back. My daughter has been back in school for three weeks now and it’s been good so far. Love the puppies! I hope you have a great week!
It was awesome! And you should read Iron & Magic first – if not, there are some things you might not understand.
Three weeks already? How long was your summer vacation? We have eight weeks off, but it starts at the very end of June.
Have a great week yourself.
Ooh! Love your new banner!
Thank you Ronyell 🙂

New banner, new look 🙂 I love how you put both of you of the banner. This is actually the first time I’m visiting (finally back from my vacation).
Your classes have already started? For us it’s only next week. Although thankfully, I don’t have a class to teach until the week after that. I hope your classes go well 🙂
Yeah, high school started last week – which means I have three weeks of teaching before my own classes at uni starts. It’s going to be tough to wear both the teacher and the student hat…
I’m glad you like our new banner – we’re very happy with it 🙂 Have a great week Evelina!
I loved Magic Triumphs! I’m gutted it’s over but was so happy to see one of Andrews’ blog posts stating that there will be more books in that world (beyond Hugh’s) and let’s face it, that epilogue was definitely setting up something, right?!
YES! So good, even if I’m also sad it’s over. And that epilogue was golden. I can’t wait to see what will happen with that.

no new books actually, going through a slump with sick kids and work
Oh no Ailyn. I hope the kids will get better soon, and that the slump will disappear as well!
Being back at school for that first week is always a busy one, getting back in the groove is too. Hope this week is smooth sailing for you.
Thanks Jenna 🙂 I hope so too!
If you have pictures of those lil hot dogs every week, I am so here for this. Love baby doxies! Also, man I remember the start of school being so much work – not only getting yourself in the groove but the kids too! I hope it goes well!
Yes, I do share pictures of my puppies every week 🙂
I hope I’ll get into the groove of things quickly! Thanks for stopping by Lulu.

Yes, the first week of school is so exhausting – I always forget how rough it is with 22 lost kinders to herd! I’m sure you’re going to rock it, even when you have to go back to your classes too! Just take care of you 🙂
Hugs!!! Miss you bunches!
The first week is exhausting! And I have so many new students, as I teach English in different levels. I bet having 22 minders to herd is no easier, though.
Miss you too, Berls!! <3
All the best – I know how important these early weeks are to set the tone in the classroom. I have a couple more weeks before I start my Creative Writing classes. Look after yourself – these first few weeks are exhausting! Love the new-look site, by the way. Take care, Lexxie.
Yes, to have respect, calm and a good environment is so important – and I think we’ll achieve that this year.
Thanks, Sarah. We love it, too! And I have to say I love having a co-blogger 🙂
I hope you get back in the swing of things quickly. For some reason I thought you were done with school? I guess I was wrong. Anyway here’s hoping you have a less exhausting time of it and that your dogs keep you calm. They say petting an animal relaxes you so Freddy and Hercules now have a good job! *Ha!* They are so cute!
I’m sure I will, Lorna. I was done with my Master’s in English, but I also need a Master’s in pedagogy so that I can become a full-fledged teacher 🙂 So you weren’t wrong, really.
The dogs are the best! And they sure do well at letting me pet them, and hold them 🙂
I love new school years and fall weather. Neither is really happening with me. I also got Magic Triumphs and forgot to include it because I pre-ordered it last November! Plus I already read the eARC and listened to the audio for review before release day. Ooops.
I’m going to miss COYER but that just gives me the incentive to try to read freebies which are 2018 for the New Release Challenge.
I hope you have a great week! I’m hoping for a quieter and more at home one than last week. Which allows more time for reading, puppy love and cooking good food. Anne – Books of My Heart
I love that I have a new school year every year! It’s invigorating, even if the first week is exhausting 🙂
I had pre-ordered Magic Triumphs, too, but since it’s the only book I got last week, it was easy to include it 🙂
I’m going to miss COYER, too, but the new release challenge is fun, too.
Thanks for stopping by, Anne!
I can only imagine how exhausting that first week back is. I hope you get settle soon so you can get ready for your own classes. Love the pups! They have the right idea. LOL
Yeah, I definitely need to be ready for my own classes, but I’m sure I’ll settle in before those start 🙂
The pups usually do have the right idea – snuggle and hugging for the win.
It’s such a great feeling when a series ends well. Hope the school year is off to a good start and that you’re back into the routine soon. Looking forward to your review of the new Christina Lauren book. I’m feeling confident that it’s another winner! 🙂
I am sure you will soon find a routine and everything with school will be easier.
The pups are really cute as always.
Enjoy your new book and have a great week!
It was a very busy week for you, darling. I know you were exhausted. And I’m so proud of you for only getting ONE ARC! 😉 Hopefully this week is going more smoothly. I love the pics of the puppies! 😀
*smooches* {{{BIG HUGS}}} & LOTS OF LOVE
Oh my gosh. The puppies. *ear scritches*
🙂 The puppies are always asked to participate 😉
Yay for Illona Andrews! There can be no wrong done by their writing 😀 Also, I hope you manage to sink into the routine soon! It’s always hard with the back to work or school mindset shift.
