Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #188

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

The Sunday Post #138 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I actually handed in my Master’s thesis on Friday. Finally! And I have a date for my defence… I am so very relieved, and happy, but still nervous about the oral defence that will happen at the beginning of the month o f June.  This weekend will still be quite busy, though, as I have a ton of tests to correct still.

The weather has been gorgeous all week, sunny and warm, not too hot, perfect for BBQs in the backyard. We had Thursday off, and had some friends over in the afternoon for drinks, food and fun.

This Week’s Freddy in Action:
Sleeping on top of my book – to ensure cuddles instead of me reading…

  1. Yay for you, Lexxie! Big accomplishment and a huge thing off your to-do list. Whew, now the defense! Glad its at the beginning of summer so you can have it over with and then relax.

Oh neat you got the Jill Shalvis.

Ahhh, Freddie! We’re bbq-ing out on Monday, I hope (if the rain holds off).

  2. Happy weekend! And congrats on turning in your thesis. what an accomplishment! Hope you have a great weekend and the nice weather continues. It’s finally starting to warm up here too, a bit…

  3. Congrats on getting the thesis turned in! Such a huge accomplishment. The bbq sounds so nice. It’s already getting too hot here to spend much time outside. It’s supposed to be 95 here Sunday and Monday. Ugh. Only a couple new books this past week – 180 Seconds by Jessica Park which came in my Bookworm Box (very excited about that one), and two YA novels that I’d read previously from the library but wanted my own copies of, Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum and Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer. Hope you have a great weekend, Lexxie!

  4. Yay for finishing your thesis!! Hope it all goes well after that! And yay for new reads! Totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  5. Congrats on handing in your thesis! You’ll feel so good when the defense is over and you can relax a little. Grad school takes up so much mental energy that I didn’t know what to do with myself when it was over.

  6. Yeah for the thesis 🙂 You will do great on the oral (everything I type this weekend sounds dirty). I am still reading/listening to Bounty. Deke is pissing me off so I keep sitting it down. I know there will be a moment he does something awesome and I will love him but at 46% I am still waiting LOL (it might be the man bun—I hate man buns). This weekend hoping for some reading, playing WOW, and packing 🙂

  15. Yay for getting the thesis is, well done! I’m sure you’ll fly through the defence after working so hard on your thesis, and also feeling passionate about your subject. Both of your new ARCs look great. Have a great week

  16. Yay about the master thesis! Must feel like such a load off your shoulders. Bet you’ll have so much more free time now 🙂
The defence will be fine. Those are always the easy part, compared to the actual writing of the thing. Good luck with it though!

  17. Great news about the thesis– you’ll do get with your defense, don’t worry! You certainly have been busy with school, work and family. Glad you have time to read. I added the Spindler and Shalvis books to my wishlist now. Have a fun week ahead.

  18. Congrats on turning your thesis in! I’m a grad student and I’m lucky– I just got my masters, but in physics you have the option to do a non-thesis masters which I did because I do not hate myself 😉 when I get my PhD I’ll have to do an actual thesis/defense but that’s still a year or two away.
