Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! A new release in our favorite series, an exciting new title from a favorite author…
Waiting on Wednesday #58
I have actually been excited about Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman for a little while already, but I was hoping I’d be able to snatch an ARC from Netgalley… alas, that was not to be, so I’m going to have to (im)patiently wait until October 20th now 😉
This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do.
This afternoon, her planet was invaded.
The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.
But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it’s clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.
Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Wednesday! Don’t forget to leave me a link in your comment so I can come and check out your Waiting on Wednesday post, too.
Sounds interesting, Lexxie. I’m just sorry you’re going to have to exercise patience. 😉 Hopefully it will be well worth the wait!! **BIG HUGS**
It’s not as if I don’t have enough other books to delve into while waiting, but both Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufmann have written other books I really love.
Thanks for stopping by, my dear! *BIG HUGS*

Love the Starbound series by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner (the next one in the series is on my WoW today) and this one sounds really good too.
Thanks for sharing!

I am excited about this one too! Too bad you couldn’t get an ARC. I’m sure those would have been in high demand. I’ve never read anything by Jay Kristoff but I do love the Starbound series that Amie Kaufman coauthors with Meagan Spooner. This seems to have a similar vibe. Good pick!
Nice! I’ve been seeing this one around a LOT! I mean hardcover ARCs?! I never knew there was such a thing! LOL! So I admit, my curiosity is piqued! Hope you enjoy it!
