Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #86

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

This week, I’m sharing another quote from Tempting Tempo by Michelle Mankin – release date is today!! If you enjoy contemporary new adult featuring music, a little drama and lots of romance you are going to love this! It is the fifth book in the series, but it could work as a stand-alone without problem!

Here, the band are spending time at their manager’s house in order to record an album as fast as possible. They don’t have that many songs yet, but the do know what they want to do, and which direction to go in.

“How we gonna write music sober?” King opened the fridge door. “There’s only two fucking six packs of Molson,” he advised us.
“Welcome to Timmon’s version of Disneyworld,” Bryan complained.
“We wrote most of our first album sober,” I remembered, grabbed a bottle of beer and twisted the top open.
“Yeah, but only because we couldn’t afford nada back then.” King held one of the pizza boxes open for everyone to choose a slice before he snagged two for himself. Resuming his seat on the couch, he stacked his two on top of each other and took a huge bite of the pizza sandwich.
“You’re right.” Dizzy flopped on the couch beside me, food in one hand, beer in the other. Apparently, none of us were going to bother with plates.

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

  1. That’s a good scene, Lexxie! I just love the boys of Tempest! And I so enjoyed getting to know Timmons better in this book. Pizza and beer! Sounds like a great meal – even sans plates. 😀
