Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #123
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week’s Thirsty Thursday comes from Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews. And I just love the snarky thoughts Nevada has where Rogan is concerned. It makes me giggle, and at the same time, she’s completely right!
My Thirsty Thursday quote:
I walked into the kitchen and found Mad Rogan in it. He sat at the table, dressed in a blue Henley shirt and jeans, sipping coffee out of a mug with a little grey kitten on it. His dark jaw was once again clean shaven. I am a polite, nonthreatening kind of dragon with excellent manners. Horns are hidden, tail is tucked away, fangs covered. I would never do anything cruel, like stab a man with a knife about ten times to get him to answer a question.
Somehow, this new, on-his-best-behavior version was scarier than witnessing him calmly breaking a man with his bare hands.
[…]
My mother turned away from the stove and held out a plate of pancakes. I took it from her and set it on the table next to a platter of bacon. Mad Rogan pushed the second mug of coffee toward me. It had an orange kitten on it.
Grandma Frida strode into the kitchen followed by Lina and Arabella. “I smell bacon! Penelope, did you know there is a handsome man in our kitchen?”
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

at least if rogan is bad, i can imagine the bacon is him and eat it Hahaha that is very terrible of me
I wanted to giggle too reading this quote. 😀 Also, pancakes and bacon… both are yummy! And I don’t know why but the mention of the mugs with the kittens on makes me want to laugh. xD
The cup with a kitten on it is kinda funny. He doesn’t like one to have a cup that that. lol…
Jenea’s Book Obsession
Gah! I have got to start this series. Love them and can’t believe I’m so behind with them.
I only started this series a few weeks ago, Anna, because I got the ARC for book #3 – and I really think it’s even better than the Kate Daniels series. So yes, you DO need to start this series 😉
Heh! We love that dragon.
So much! Both the one who lurks in the shadows, and the one who’s right there in your face, spewing flames and magic!

I love this series so much. That is a great quote. I’ve listened to it twice and it still brings a smile to my face reading it. Gotta love Grandma Freda. 🙂
