Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #119
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
My Hungry Hearts quote for this week is from Deadly Silence by Rebecca Zanetti. This story was extremely fast-paced and mysterious, and is from the beginning of the story, as Ryker came over to Zara’s place to ‘hang out’ with her 😉 It became fairly tense rather quick, though…
My Hungry Hearts quote:
“I hope you haven’t eaten.” “You know I haven’t.” He stopped inside the kitchen. “Zara.”
She gave an involuntary shiver from his low tone and drew the lasagna from the oven and bread from the warmer before turning around to see him lounging against the doorjamb. “Isn’t this when you pour wine?” Her heart fluttered at seeing the contrast between her pretty butter yellow cabinets and the deadly rebel calmly watching her. “I have the beer you like.”
“You always have the beer you like.” He didn’t move a muscle, and this time a warning threaded through his words in a tone like gravel crumbling in a crusher. “I asked you a question.”
She forced a smile and carried the dishes to the breakfast nook, which she’d already set with her favorite Apple-patterned dinnerware and bright aqua linens.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
That was a great first scene with all that tension before things went all crazy action. 🙂

I really loved this book (well, this series and the original too).
What is it with lasagna in books? I finished a book today where one of the main characters made lasagna and it just sounded so damn good. <3
I wish someone would make me a lasagna! Such a great scene.
