Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #28
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Today, my quote is from Rock Courtship (Rock Kiss #1.5) by Nalini Singh. When I read this story, I fell in love, and now, I’m listening to it, and it’s just as amazing in audio. My quote is taken from about 22% of the kindle version, where Thea is visiting her family in Bali, and she’s feeling a little down after finally having cried after what her ex had put her through. Thea’s mom did exactly the right thing to help her daughter feel better, too!
My Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote:
“Write to your man,” Lily said after using the bottom of her T-shirt to wipe away the remnants of Thea’s tears, much as she’d done when Thea was a child. “I’ll bring you ginger tea to ease your throat and cake to ease your heart.”
Thea drank the tea, ate the lusciously rich vanilla cake that sandwiched an equally decadent chocolate layer, then read her memo over again and hit Send.
Don’t forget to link up! Thanks for stopping by today, have a terrific Thursday and happy reading.
oh great quote. I just love this author. There is nothing better than a good cup of tea and some cake right?
I agree, she’s one of my favorite authors, and this quote is so full of feel-good!
I’ll leave you the ginger tea but will gladly grab the lucious cake ^^ I love Nalini Singh and really hope to catch up on this series one day 🙂
I actually think I’d really enjoy the ginger tea, too, Iza, and that cake does sound delicious, doesn’t it?
Hmm, do you think you could bring me some ginger tea and some vanilla/chocolate cake to make me feel better, Lexxie?!? LOL That’s a great quote, my dear. *BIG HUGS*
No problem, Brandee, I just wish it would be possible to teleport! *BIG HUGS*
