The Sunday Post #39 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
Our first week of vacation in our holiday home in the north of Spain has been nothing short of amazing! The weather has been gorgeous, we’ve been hanging out at the beach, eaten fresh fish, had some good Spanish wine, and spent lots of quality time together. On Friday, my youngest daughter turned 10, and we celebrated her birthday the whole day, starting with breakfast in bed, complete with a visit from her godfather who is also on vacation, pretty close to where we are. I’ve read quite a few books, and now, I need to find the time to review them as well. COYER is in full swing, and I’m having a lot of fun with the scavenger hunt!
Happy 4th of July to my American friends, I hope you all had a good time yesterday, with friends, family, BBQ and fireworks.

Hi Lexxie,
It sounds like a really fun week so far! I’m glad you’re enjoying Spain 😀 Your daughter must be really happy with the full-day birthday celebration! He he. The picture looks very yummy! I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation 🙂
Have a great week,
Amy x
Yeah, she said it was the best birthday ever 😉 What, with breakfast in bed, party all day, and a long stint at the beach playing in the waves with her favorite people 🙂
Oh, I’m envious! I’ve not travelled in Europe much (at all, really) but would love to at some stage.
I visited Portugal very briefly (6wks) in the mid 1990s when I was travelling to work in Africa – to learn basic Portuguese. It was amazing though it was the first time I’d been overseas and I think I was a little shell-shocked!
Deb
I haven’t traveled at all in Australia nor New Zealand, Deborah… but quite a bit here in Europe 🙂 I think it’s a lot easier to travel around the same continent we live on 🙂
Sounds like you’re having a wonderfull time on vacaction and I hope your daughter had a great birthday! I also am having a lot of fun with Coyer and the scavenger hunt. Thanks for linking to my post! Hope you’ll have a great week!
The Scavenger Hunt just gives yet another level of fun for COYER this time around, don’t you think?
Your daughter’s 10th birthday sounds fabulous. I remember my daughter’s 10th (way too many years ago!) as a slumber party with ten friends…and no sleep for me. LOL
Speaking of Spain, my eldest son was just there for a two-day layover, on his way to California for a visit, after living in Berlin (and Czech Republic) for more than eight years. I can’t wait to see him again…and meet his wife.
Enjoy your books…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Hopefully, your son and his wife have arrived safely now, Laurel-Rain, you must have missed him SO much!
I’m so jealous. I would love to go to Spain. 🙂
It’s really lovely here, and I love how we all wind down when we’re close to the sea.
Aaw, happy birthday to your daughter! It sounds as if your vacation is off to a wonderful start.
It definitely is, Bea 🙂
Sounds like a great vacation so far! I love fresh fish- we don’t always get it super fresh around here, unless we’re by the water, so whenever I can get it I enjoy it. Hope your vacation stays awesome!
That’s the same problem I have when I’m at home, too, Greg. And fresh fish is definitely much better 🙂
Glad to hear your having fun with Coyer…and having a blast in Spain. Sounds amazing!! Plan to go there one day.
There are so many places to visit in Spain, and we’re having a great time here so far 🙂
What a great birthday your daughter had! I bet you had a fun time planning everything as well. I love planning stuff for the kids almost as much as getting stuff myself. Have a great week!
Yes, both planning and celebrating is fun, Katherine 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Sounds like Spain is marvellous and that you are having a wonderful time, I have never been but parts of it look beautiful!
Have a fantastic week with your family!
The region where we are is one of my favorite! We’re close to the beach in a small village, but pretty close to Barcelona if we want a day in the big city 🙂

Stormi
Yes, we definitely are, Stormi 🙂
Wow! Glad you had a fun time in Spain! I want to go to Spain someday!
I hope you’ll be able to travel to Spain one day, Ronyell, I love it here!
Happy late birthday to your daughter – sounds like she had a nice day. I’m glad your vacation is going well. I’d love to visit Spain at some point. 🙂
Thank you, Lauren! We all had a nice day celebrating her 🙂
Happy belated birthday, #4! 🙂 I’m glad you’re having such a spectacular time so far in Spain, Lexxie. But then, I figured you would. 😉 What is the time difference between us now? Any chance we can chat over wine? Or perhaps I’ll have to have a morning champagne? *haha* I hope your second week is going just as splendidly as the first did. **BIG HUGS**
