Teaser Tuesday - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

It’s In His Kiss (Lucky Harbor #10) – Jill Shalvis

ONE KISS CAN LAST FOREVER
Becca Thorpe has uprooted her life and escaped to the beach. Now’s her chance to get away from city living, throw caution to the ocean winds, and live in the moment. Especially if the moment includes the deliciously sexy surfer she meets shortly after arriving in Lucky Harbor. Something about the dark intensity of Sam’s eyes and the thrill she gets at his touch convinces her to stay awhile.
Boatbuilder and investment genius Sam Brody is a self-made man who knows how dangerous it can be to mix business and pleasure. But he can’t resist offering Becca a job just to hear her laugh and have her near. Yet when her brother comes to town asking for help, will he tempt her back to her glamorous life in the city? Or do Sam and little Lucky Harbor have a chance to win Becca’s heart?

My teaser is from the first paragraph of It’s In His Kiss – that’s pretty promising, right?

[dropshadowbox align=”center” effect=”lifted-both” width=”400px” height=”” background_color=”#e0c0d7″ border_width=”1″ border_color=”#674ea7″ ]”Oh yeah,” Becca Thorpe murmured with a sigh of pleasure as she wriggled her toes in the wet sand. The sensation was better than splurging on a rare pedicure. Better than finding the perfect dress on sale. Better than… well, she’d say orgasms, but it’d been a while and she couldn’t remember for sure.[/dropshadowbox]

What’s your teaser today? Please share – it’s not as if a few more books on my TBR mountain will make that big of a difference 😉

    • Jill Shalvis has a great sense of humor that usually shines through in her stories 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by, Suzie.

    • I’m a big fan, too, Hootie! I especially enjoy her Lucky Harbor series, it’s so well done 🙂

  1. Hi Lexxie,

I am not much of a ‘beachy’ person and a walk along the sand is just about enough for me! I think that wet sand is probably the lesser of two evils!

I am not sure that this is the book of choice for me, it might be a little too ‘cutsie’.

It does sound as though you thoroughly enjoyed the story though, so thanks for sharing.

    Yvonne

    • I love the beach! Maybe because I’m surrounded by mountains? I feel like if I dont see the beach and the sea it’s like I haven’t really enjoyed my summer 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne.

    • Yes, Lucky Harbor is definitely a series for you, Brandee 🙂 This fall, the last two books are being released, too, so you would have everything all ready for you to just delve in 😉
Thanks for stopping by, my dear. *BIG HUGS*
