STS #88 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #38
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed & Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from Karen Marie Moning’s amazing Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Today is the beginning of the summer-long COYER challenge, and I’m really excited about that. I hope I’ll be able to read a lot of those books that have been taking up space on my kindle for a while, and there’s also a great scavenger hunt for the duration of the challenge!
Of course, even if I already own more than enough books, I have added some more this week – if not I wouldn’t be me!
What I Bought:
Impossible: The Original Trilogy (Impossible #1) – Julia Sykes
These three novellas (Monster, Traitor, and Avenger) make up the first story in the Impossible Series. It is followed by Savior (An Impossible Novel), but it can be read as a standalone.
My life was irrevocably changed that night. The night I was taken. I saved a man’s life, but at what cost to myself? Can I convince him to save me in return?
I hate him for what he’s done to me. But the longer I’m trapped with him, the harder it is to cling to that hatred. He is an enigma of a man, one who is shockingly arrogant, sweetly contrite, and frighteningly aggressive by turns. And the pain in his eyes is a mirror for my own.
The longer I remain in his grip, the more confused I become.
Is my freedom worth betraying him?
This collection includes all three Impossible novellas: Monster, Traitor, and Avenger.
Angel (Impossible #1.5) – Julia Sykes
I almost died that night.
And then what did I do? I assaulted and terrified the woman who had saved my life.
I told her that her life was over, that she could never leave my apartment.
But as much as I know she hates me, I can’t help being fiercely attracted to her.
I dream about taking her, about dominating her body and watching her writhe beneath me in ecstasy.
Even though the world has fucked her over, she is still innocent, vulnerable in so many ways.
I want to exploit that vulnerability and take possession of that innocence.
I want to seduce a woman who can’t escape me.
God, just how fucked up am I?
What I Bagged
Tough Love (Ultimate #3) – Lori Foster
She’s playing hard to get… to win the MMA fighter of her ultimate fantasies in a sultry new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster…
Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she’s not above playing a little dirty. She’s wanted Stack “The Wolf” Hannigan from day one. Seems as though the best way to corral the famously commitment-phobic fighter is to insist on keeping it casual. And her plan works—deliciously well—until Stack’s past steps out of the shadows.
Stack learned early to stay free of attachments. But with sexy, forthright Vanity, he’s the one always left wanting more. Then his troublemaking family comes back into the picture, threatening everything Stack cares about—Vanity included. Suddenly he realizes they’re much more than friends with benefits. He’s ready to go to the mat for her…but will it be in time to protect the woman who’s tamed him for good?
Thank you HQN Books and Netgalley!

Are those Sykes books erotica? Of the BDSM sort to be specific?
Why, yes, Braine they are 😉
The Julia Skyes books look interesting. I hope you love all your new books.
Grace @ Books of Love
I look forward to those, Grace, I have been lusting after Julia’s books since RT, we were hanging out with her every day 🙂
It’s funny that I never took to romance books as a genre when I was addicted to things like Sweet Valley High, Sweet Dreams and Cheerleaders when I was a teenager! Hope you enjoy your books!
Ha! I guess tastes change, Chuckles. And maybe it was something else that had you addicted to those stories?
Impossible sounds like my kind of read! *adding to TBR list* Tough Love sounds great too. I’ve always wanted to read a book with MMA fighters but haven’t had the chance yet.
Happy Reading!
I absolutely love Lori Foster, Stephanie, and I’m actually reading Tough Love right ow. I agree that Impossible sounds very enticing, I hope we’ll both enjoy it!
We’re all the same, I guess, buying more books than we’ll ever be able to read ! I tried a book ban recently aaaaaand… you’ll see how it went tomorrow in The sunday post – including one I bought after reading your review, lol 😉 Enjoy your new books !
LOL Iza 🙂 I don’t think I’d ever even attempt to go for a book buying ban – I know I would fail!
I like that you divided your trilogy for the 3 different memes. Having all 3 sitting and staring at me would make me feel extreme pressure to read them all right away. Another reason I don’t buy books. Sounds like a good series.
I just can’t resist buying more books every single week, Elizabeth… there are so many out there that looks amazing!
Looks like these books will be a lot of fun! 😉 Enjoy!
Thanks, Chrissi, I think so too!

Lexxie, did you pre-choose your books for #COYER? I haven’t 🙁 I was just hoping that I could wing it, read the book and see which of the Scavenger Hunt’s I can fit it into LOL
My STS
Have a great weekend!
Uhm… pre-choose is a big word, Angelica, but yes, I have added books to the scavenger hunt list that would work – we’ll just have to wait and see how many I’ll actually read 😉 I’m still mostly winging it, but the books on my Summer Coyer TBR shelf can all be used for the scavenger hunt…
I’ve had mixed feelings about Lori Foster so I’ve held back from this recent series. I hope you enjoy it. Happy reading!
Tsuki’s STS
That’s too bad, Tsuki! I’ve read several of her recent series, and I love them. I also already finished Tough Love this morning – it was amazing!
Enjoy your haul and thanks for stopping by My STS!
Thanks, Brooke 🙂
Oh, I haven’t seen the Impossible series yet. I’ll have to check them out.
I liked some of Lori Fosters older books, but I’ve been avoiding sports books.
I hope you enjoy your haul!
This series doesn’t really focus on the sport, Stacey, but the guys are very sporty and hot + have lots of muscles 😉
Thanks for stopping by.
I have a copy of Lori’s book, too! I’ve yet to read her, but I’m excited about this one. I hope you enjoy it and the others!
Kim, you definitely should read her! I love her stories 🙂
I am all kinds of into romance now. I go through stages and am all kinds of into romance right now. I think that it’s summer that does it to me. Best of luck with your reading goals for Coyer, Lexxie. I am so glad that I find out about it. 🙂
I’m so, so happy you learned about COYER, Suzi! We are going to have so much fun this summer! And I am really into romances these days, too 🙂 maybe we’ll find something to buddy read?
That would be great, Lexxie! 🙂
Sometimes it’s just too difficult NOT to add at least one new book. haah I feel like I’ve gotten a lot of review books lately; the last one I got in the mail was Letters to Zell.
-Lauren
I can never not add any books at all, Lauren. And I usually end up adding more than I can read 😉
Great haul! I’ve not heard of any of these but I do hope that you enjoy them. I don’t typically read adult books. Have a great week Lexxie!
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Thanks, Krystianna! I read both adult and YA and everything between 😀
Got some hot stuff! Enjoy 😉
I’m looking forward to doing my first Coyer this time around.
Thanks! I hope you’ll have as much fun with COYER as I usually have 🙂
I hope you enjoy your books and get lots read during COYER. I am trying to finish a book this evening but fear I picked up food poisoning from a local festival this afternoon.
Oh I hope you’ll feel better, Barb!
All your new books look pretty intense. Hope you enjoy reading them.
Thanks for stopping by my StS.:)
Thanks Marilyn 🙂 I hope so too!
Oh they’re all new to me but I hope you’ll like them my friend. Have a nice sunday!
Thanks, Melliane, you too!
Oh wow, all your new books are also new to me but they all seem promising! I hope you’ll love them all 🙂 Happy Sunday and happy reading ♥
I hope so too, Micheline 🙂
They looks good! Hope you enjoy them all!
Thanks, Lizzie 🙂

Enjoy your new steamy looking reads. 😉 Hope you have a great week!
😉 Thanks Stormi!
Wow, those first two sound a bit rough, but I don’t read much romance. Is the entire series featured on the woman and her captor, or different couples/situations?
I am not sure if the whole series is about this one woman and her captor yet, as I haven’t read too much of the summaries for the books I don’t have yet – I don’t want to be spoiled for the first book 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Tiffany.
I hope you enjoy these books, I haven’t heard of them before but the covers are rather nice
