Safe and Sexy #33
Thinking of my romances and safe sex at the same time started when I wrote my discussion post with the same name a long time ago! Not too long after, the idea of sharing quotes about that ensured that the feature Safe and Sexy was born. It’s where I will share a quote from a story I have read, and where there is a lot of hotness and sexiness, but where they still take the time to be safe! It’s important to me to read books that make me dream, but I also want them to be somewhat realistic. And to me, characters seem realistic when they take care of themselves and their partner(s)! Safe sex is a great way to do so, and when an author includes a couple of lines to share that they are indeed using condoms, I am such a happy reader. And I think it’s sexy when both new and ‘old’ lovers show that they respect each other by getting that condom, and possibly making using it both safe & sexy, hot and fun.
If you want to participate with your very own Safe and Sexy quotes, go right ahead. The more the merrier, and maybe your quote will help me add a new book to my bloated TBR shelf 😉 One can never have enough books, right? Without further ado, here’s my Safe and Sexy quote for this week, it’s from The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis – reviewed today 😉 It’s from the middle of the story, and I just thought it was a moment that was both sweet and hot.
My Safe and Sexy quote:
One tug and she was bared to him, and it only took her a second to push his jeans back down and free him. Their gazes met again and she could see the need and hunger she felt mirrored back at her. But also a hint of doubt. “Tilly – ” he started but she surged up and took his mouth with hers. “I want this,” she reminded him. “I want tonight, whatever we can give each other.” Producing a condom, he leaned down and gave a soft, loving kiss that so thoroughly disarmed her that she gasped when he slid home. She was instantly swept away, lost in the sensations as he enveloped her into his arms and took her with a slow, steady rhythm that grew and ache into a flame, and a flame into a flash fire that consumed her.

Way romantic to have a special night together safely, love the excerpt I agreee
Yeah, I think staying safe while being all hot and bothered is very sexy.
Jill Shalvis has this way of building full steam without being super descriptive. I love that she can do that.
It bugs me when it’s their first time and there is no talk about use of condom and then after that he all of a sudden rips it off…weird.
I love how she is able to do that, too. And I really think it’s sexy when the characters are careful like that – it shows a lot of respect, both towards themself and the other person.

I enjoyed this one. My cover is different though and has the dog. Have an awesome weekend Lexxie!
That’s funny. Maybe the eARC had a different cover?
What a great scene! I just loved Tillie and Dylan. Shalvis did a great job with this novella 🙂
She really did. I love that she listened to her fans and gave us this story. It was so well done.
