Blogger Wife Chat Review: Prince’s Gambit – C. S. Pacat

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Prince’s Gambit – C. S. Pacat

Prince’s Gambit was filled with intrigue, betrayal, action, and planning for war.  I had to catch my breath reading Prince’s Gambit! The action was even faster. And the intrigue as well as the betrayals were just amazing, don’t you think? Oh, they both were so amazing! I didn’t know who to trust or what was going to happen next. The action was faster in this installment and while most of the story had me tied in knots, Pacat did manage to make me laugh a few times. 🙂   Both Damen and Laurent grew in this novel too! What new information about them did you enjoy the most? I thought that in some ways, they were more similar than they […]

Buddy Read Chat Review w/Berls ~ Mine to Keep ~ Cynthia Eden @BerlsS

Buddy Read Chat Review w/Berls ~ Mine to Keep ~ Cynthia Eden @BerlsS

Mine to Keep started off a little more slowly than its predecessor but it didn’t take too long to draw me in. Once I was hooked I was flying through the pages while biting my nails. CEden impressed me with her suspense in the first installment but she amped up the tension in this one. And she kept me in the dark the entire time! I so agree! I think that the tension in Mine to Take was that you were constantly misdirected on the culprit. In Mine to Keep, the tension was that I was clueless! I knew who it COULDN’T be and was pretty confident that they were wrong on a couple of their suspects. But I never […]

Review ~ Soaring ~ Kristen Ashley

Review ~ Soaring ~ Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley never disappoints me and Soaring was no different. This story had it all…engaging characters (even the kids!), character growth, realistic family issues…and I loved it all. Highlights: Seasoned Characters I have to admit to loving the fact that KA writes seasoned characters. Both Amelia and Mickey are closing in on 50 and I like experiencing life with and through characters that have lived as much life as I have. Second Chance Romance If you haven’t yet figured out that I’m a sucker for this trope, you will. Yep, I’m a sucker for it. I adore that Amelia and Mickey have lived the lives they’ve lived, lost at love, but are growing, changing, and getting a second chance at […]

Review ~ Next Year in Havana ~ Chanel Cleeton

Review ~ Next Year in Havana ~ Chanel Cleeton

Next Year in Havana was…gosh, it was so much. It was a history lesson, a thought-provoking story and two poignant romances all rolled into one. And I adored it – every word. The story is told from two POVs: that of Elisa, living in 1958 Cuba, and her granddaughter, Marisol, living in 2017 Miami. Elisa is the daughter of a sugar baron and lives a grand life with everything money can buy. That is until Fidel Castro overthrows Batista’s government and Elisa’s family is forced into exile. The majority of Elisa’s story, though, is about her falling in love with a revolutionary prior to her exile. Marisol’s story, on the other hand, involves her returning to Cuba at her grandmother’s […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month Review #1 ~ Pucked ~ Helena Hunting

Can You Read a Series in a Month Review #1 ~ Pucked ~ Helena Hunting

Oh golly was Pucked a lot of fun! I loved Violet! Her klutziness, her lack of filter…the things that came out of her mouth! LOL I adored Alex, too. His loyalty, his tenacity, his loving Violet for exactly who she is. I have a feeling I might fly through this series! Highlights: Characters Not only was I delighted with Violet and Alex but HHunting populated their story with an outstanding secondary cast. From Alex’s teammates to his parents and Vi’s step-brother, parents, and best friend – they all combined to better convey the character of Violet and Alex. The secondary characters also gave depth to the story. Plus, I’m eager to learn more about quite a few hockey players. 😉 […]

New Release Review ~ Plan B ~ Jana Aston

New Release Review ~ Plan B ~ Jana Aston

I had to wait awhile on Plan B and I can tell you this: it was every bit worth the wait! JAston writes rom-com expertly. She kept me giggle-snorting while flipping through the pages as quickly as I could! We got a little taste of Daisy in all her crazy-fun glory in Sure Thing, the first book in the Best Laid Plans series. She was wild enough to be pulling a twin switcheroo at her job! I already loved her “live life to its fullest” approach to live so I was eager to get her story. And while Daisy may jump in with both feet before considering the consequences, she’s also smart, loyal, compassionate and responsible…most of the time. 😉 […]

Review: Say You Still Love Me – K.A. Tucker

Review: Say You Still Love Me – K.A. Tucker

Say You Still Love Me is a strong love story, where the past plays a very important role in the present – for all the characters. I’m a huge fan of second chance romances, and in Say You Still Love Me, Kyle and Piper worked on getting theirs. I loved a lot of things about this story, but I found the beginning to be a bit slow, and the ending to be a bit ‘easy’. That said, the story worked well for me, and I found the flashbacks to bring a lot to the present. The characters in Say You Still Love Me were relatable, and I wanted them to work things out. Especially as the flashes from the past […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Lady Luck ~ KC Cross

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Lady Luck ~ KC Cross

Lady Luck upped the suspense a notch or twenty. This series keeps getting better and better. I was excited for Luck’s story and Cross didn’t disappoint. She gave Luck his perfect match in Nyleena and she game just enough clues to have me thinking I might just have some of the answers. Of course, I’m probably wrong. 😉 I loved how the suspense got better, and that while we definitely got answers, we got a lot more questions, too! Ha! I always think I have figured something out, only to realize in the next book that’s not exactly how things were… that’s part of what makes this series so good, though. I thought it was interesting that Nyleena had such a […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Island Side ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Island Side ~ Michelle Mankin

Wow! I couldn’t have asked for a better ending for Hollie & Diesel or for this series. Mankin has a way of developing these complex, genuine, and flawed characters that you can’t help but root for. And watching them grow as they struggle to overcome or dig deep to find their inner strength…it’s beautiful. Mankin is also gifted at sharing her love of the ocean, surfing, rock music and the musicians who make it through her lovely prose. Her words paint vivid images of the landscape as well as visceral emotions. I’m sad to see this series end because I’m going to miss these characters! I’m sad it’s over, too – and I think I’ll do a re-read before BookBonanza, […]

Review: F*ck Marriage – Tarryn Fisher

Review: F*ck Marriage – Tarryn Fisher

F*ck Marriage is a raw, honest tale about Billie and her banked marriage. But it’s also about revenge, love, hope, and friends. Story: F*ck Marriage isn’t only about Billie, though, it is also about Woods and Satcher, who used to be best friends. That is, until Woods cheated on Billie and told her he wanted a divorce. Most of the relationships in F*ck Marriage are rather complicated, once one layer is pealed off, there’s another one ready to be dissected, and that made it a little hard to get to know the characters at times. While I enjoyed Billie, it was also a bit difficult to relate to her. She didn’t know what she wanted. And she didn’t really know […]
