Review ~ Seducing His Secret Wife ~ Robin Covington

Review ~ Seducing His Secret Wife ~ Robin Covington

Seducing His Secret Wife is the second installment in RCovington’s Redhawk Reunion series and it’s a worthy addition. I knew it’d take quite the woman to capture Justin’s attention. Hooboy did the sparks fly! And then we find out who *she* really is. Watching the romance bloom between Justin and Sarina was heartwarming and fun. These two are broken in their own ways and it was something to see as they proved to each other that they were enough just as they are. I only wish I’d gotten to see even more page time between them. Sarina has experienced abandonment most of her life. Being separated from her parents and split from her brothers was only the beginning. Foster care […]

Review ~ Mafia Bride ~ CD Reiss

Review ~ Mafia Bride ~ CD Reiss

With Mafia Bride , Reiss returns to the world of the Italian mafia and it’s a world I delight in. Being more fully immersed in the customs, the rules, the violence…it’s all so foreign and yet fascinating. And Reiss’s writing is exceptional. She’s the only author I’ve read whose words are beautiful in their brutality. I was enthralled from the first page. The first time I see Santino, I don’t know how old his is, but I am 12, and he is a man. Though I expect him to carry all the subtle and seductive dangers of men, his menace is controlled, with the direction and force of gravity. He comes to my uncle’s house, where I’ve lived since I was a […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Right Wrong ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Right Wrong ~ Michelle Mankin

Wow. The Right Wrong certainly toyed with my emotions. Both Ben and Sierra had a lot to overcome in order for their romance to blossom. But it did bloom and it did so rather quickly for my tastes but this is a fairytale. 😉 I didn’t really see the parallel to Sleeping Beauty here… even metaphorically 😀 But yeah, there were definitely feels here. I had to do some thinking on it but I eventually got the parallel…   Ben’s childhood was far from idyllic. I can’t imagine being told – your whole life – that you’d ruined a parent’s life. That you were the reason they were unhappy. It was no wonder Ben drank himself to oblivion and/or buried […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Storm ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Storm ~ Michelle Mankin

Well, wifey, I feel MMankin has outdone herself with Storm. She delivered everything I’ve come to expect from her and more! My fingers are crossed for books for Saber, Shield, and Cork. 😉 Oh my gosh, I so agree! It was so, so good. I loved every single word, lyric, look, and touch. It was really well written, and the characters were out of this world.   I admired how MMankin built the story of Lotus and Storm being childhood friends. They both experienced traumatic things in their young lives and were anchors for each other. Eventually, though, Storm had to leave. His leaving was realistically portrayed and I appreciated even more how MMankin brought Lotus and Storm back together. […]

New Release Review ~ Taking on the Billionaire ~ Robin Covington

New Release Review ~ Taking on the Billionaire ~ Robin Covington

Taking on the Billionaire served as my introduction to RCovington and I’m thrilled to have met her as well as her MCs, Adam & Tess. RCovington delivered a compelling story with well-drawn characters that kept me engaged the their story. I’m eager for more and anxious over the few questions she left me with in the end. 😉 Highlights Characters Both Adam and Tess suffered traumatic experiences at young ages. Adam was wrongly removed from his family home, taken from his siblings and his Cherokee heritage. He ended up adopted by a wealthy family who clearly cared more for their image than their new son. Tess was abandoned by her mother and lost her father not much later. She was […]

Review ~ Invest in Me ~ Nan Dixon

Review ~ Invest in Me ~ Nan Dixon

Invest in Me is the first book in the Big Sky Dreamers series and was the first book I’ve read from Nan Dixon. It introduced all the players in the series but focused on Sienna and Tanner. I found all the characters relatable and their stories engaging. And I look forward to continuing the series. Sienna and Tanner had a one-night-stand. One where he disappeared without a word the next morning. Sienna was, understandably, hurt because they’d spent a lot of time talking and she thought they’d really hit it off. And their chemistry was hot. Fast forward ~6 months and Tanner’s in one of Sienna’s classes. Worse than that, she’s assigned to be in a semester long project group […]

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Review: Lies and Lullabies – Sarina Bowen

Bowen totally did it again! Lies and Lullabies is a fantastic story – where there is a meet cute at first, and then, a few years later a possibility of a second chance. When Jonas and Kira first met in Lies and Lullabies, they formed a nice friendship that felt safe for both of them. They both tried to ignore the strong attraction and the hot chemistry between them, and it worked. Mostly. However, on Jonas’ last night there, Kira managed to persuade him to let her have her way with him. And what a glorious way it was! Lies and Lullabies is much more than a romance, though, because there is so much hurt in both Jonas’ and Kira’s […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #6 ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #6 ~ Michelle Mankin

What a wonderful way to wrap-up this unique series. Rock F*ck Club is all about empowering women with the ability to embrace their sexuality without fear of judgement. Each woman in the series went about their journey in different ways but all managed to find real love despite trials and tribulations along the way. This final story once again follows Josephine and Gale (my favorite couple in the series!) as they navigate past and present obstacles on their way to a future together. Jo and Gale are my favorite couple in the series, too, and I loved to see more of them here. I think this ending truly made sense, and I’m so happy Mankin went there.   I have […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Right Wish ~ Michelle Mankin @MichelleMankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Right Wish ~ Michelle Mankin @MichelleMankin

The second installment in this series, The Right Wish was even more emotional and impactful than its predecessor. Witnessing all Camaro is and how much she gives to others, it was more than a little moving to see Brad work at convincing her she was worthy of love…his love. *swoon* I agree! Cam was such a heartfelt heroine. And she truly did believe her late mother’s words about giving joy to others was the greatest joy of all. She was so good with everyone she came in contact with.   Man, I can’t imagine having to live life as Cam had. Lying about who she was, living in shelters, selling her body… it was no wonder her self-esteem was in […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Creeping Beautiful ~ JA Huss

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Creeping Beautiful ~ JA Huss

Creeping Beautiful is Huss at her best!! Mystery wrapped in conspiracy wrapped in romance revolving around unreliable narrators, this was a multi-layered story told from multiple POVs and it was pure greatness. I can’t wait for the next installment! Oh you rounded that one up real nice, wifey! It was definitely greatness, and I loved how unreliable the narrators were. That just made all the twisty turns even better.   It was rather exciting to immerse myself in the world of The Company again. I wish I had thought to keep a notebook on The Company from the beginning, including all my thoughts and theories on things. But I digress…. Starting off with the auction, we see an entirely new facet […]
