Series: Second Circle Tattoos

Review ~ The Darkest Link ~ Scarlett Cole

Review ~ The Darkest Link ~ Scarlett Cole

With The Darkest Link, SCole delivered a gripping story with characters I was truly curious about and did it in a way that tied all the stories together beautifully. It was a wonderful way to end the Second Circle Tattoos series. Lia, a tattoo artist at Second Circle Tattoos as well as good friend to Trent, Harlow, Cujo, Drea, Pixie, and Dred, is a character I’ve always admired and wanted to know more about. She’s seemingly very comfortable in her own skin and that’s a trait I not only admire but also envy. I also think it’s beautiful. She dresses like a 40’s pinup girl and wears her American Traditional tattoos with pride. Plus, she’s such a generous person! Gah! […]

Review ~ The Purest Hook ~ Scarlett Cole

Review ~ The Purest Hook ~ Scarlett Cole

Wow! The Purest Hook kept me up past my bedtime – not necessarily a good thing since I was in Europe 😉 but I couldn’t put it down. I’d been excited to get Pixie and Dred’s story and SCole did NOT disappoint! Pixie is this tiny waif of a girl – thus her nickname – who works at Second Circle Tattoos. Trent and Cujo literally found her on their doorstep and took her in. She’s become the little sister neither had and they’d do anything for her. Even warn away potential suitors. However, Pixie is stronger than she looks. She’s been through some tough stuff and came out of the other side. She’s not unscathed but she has pluck. And […]

Review ~ The Fractured Heart ~ Scarlett Cole

Review ~ The Fractured Heart ~ Scarlett Cole

The Fractured Heart marked my long-awaited return to the Second Circle Tattoos series. Thankfully SCole was appearing at RARE Paris which gave me the push I needed to finish this amazing series. Highlights: Characters The Fractured Heart revolved around Cujo – co-owner of Second Circle Tattoos – and Drea. These two! I couldn’t wait for their story and to get to know them better. Their verbal sparring is so much fun and makes it seem as though they’re oil and water. However, they’re more like gas & match – and watching them work towards combustion was awesome. Getting better acquainted with them, seeing all they’ve been through and continue to endure, was heartbreaking. It also explained a lot about them. Their […]

Review: The Darkest Link – Scarlett Cole

Review: The Darkest Link – Scarlett Cole

The Darkest Link is the perfect ending to Second Circle Tattoos, as most of the stories have now come full circle. I loved getting to know Lia better, and the romance and suspense were just as good as in the prior books. Lia was the only female tattoo artist at Second Circle Tattoos, and I was always so very curious about her! In The Darkest Link, I finally got her story, and it was definitely worth waiting for. She and Kenny met on the road, where Lia was stranded on her way to a tattoo convention, and he was just out cruising on his bike after a long day at work. Needless to say, there were both chemistry and sparks […]

Review: The Purest Hook – Scarlett Cole

Review: The Purest Hook – Scarlett Cole

While The Purest Hook was very well written, I found it to be more predictable than the prior stories in the series, and that took away from my overall enjoyment of the hotness that was Pix and Dred. From the first Second Circle Tattoo book, I’ve been in love with this universe, the rugged characters who have hidden depths, and the nicely paced way Ms. Cole has to deliver her stories. I was very curious about Pix and her backstory, and it was definitely dark and gritty, which, in turn made me fall even harder for her 🙂 There were parts of the story that were supposed to be mysterious, though, and those were things I figured out within very […]

Review: The Fractured Heart – Scarlett Cole

This series is addictive! The Fractured Heart brought a lot of tension and suspense to the table, and I absolutely loved getting to know Brody and Drea better! I thought I already knew Drea and Cujo (Brody) from their appearances in The Strongest Steel, however, there was so much more to both of them than the bordering on mean teasing, and the way they did their best to stay clear of each other. In The Fractured Heart, I got a very good understanding of why they were both shying away from a relationship. They were both amazing, loyal friends to other people, but they didn’t feel like a romantic relationship was for them. Seeing the reasons behind this, through a […]

Review: The Strongest Steel – Scarlett Cole

Review: The Strongest Steel – Scarlett Cole

The Strongest Steel is a hot contemporary romance featuring a sexy tattoo artist who helps a broken woman get back control of her life. There are many sparks, some danger, sweet, sweet romance and a solid story with characters I wanted to spend more time with. My The Strongest Steel review: Harper. She started breaking my heart the first time I met her. She was skittish, didn’t want anyone to touch her, and became panicked if someone came too close to her from the back. As her story unfolded, I could understand why, and it was impossible to not admire her strength. She had been betrayed in a horrific way, first by someone she loved, then by those who should […]
