Series Review: Up in the Air – R. K. Lilley

Series Review: Up in the Air – R. K. Lilley

In Flight is a light story, but heavy on the BDSM, with characters that kept their distance emotionally, even from me… In Flight is the first story in Up in the Air, and I was quite intrigued by the way Bianca observed James and vice versa. James appeared like a man who knew what he wanted, and then went after it. Bianca was cool and collected – except when it came to James. Between flirting and trying to get Bianca’s phone number during the flight, and then working, James was distant, but still observant. The interactions between the flight attendants made me smile, as they were bound to be tight-knit, at least during their flights. Bianca and her paintings definitely […]

Review: Atheists Who Kneel And Pray – Tarryn Fisher

Review: Atheists Who Kneel And Pray – Tarryn Fisher

Atheists Who Kneel and Pray is a love story, but it’s also much more than that. Self-discovery sounds like a cliché, and this story was so far from a cliché I can’t really use that to describe it. Atheists Who Kneel and Pray was my first Tarryn Fisher book. And I was pretty much blown away by it. I think what got to me the most is that Yara, the heroine, is not really all that likeable, but she’s very relatable. I wanted to get to know her and her story, even when she did things I didn’t agree with. Or when I didn’t like her at all. That takes some pretty mad writing skills, right? To get you to […]

#Review: Where Have All the Scoundrels Gone – Donna Cummings

#Review: Where Have All the Scoundrels Gone – Donna Cummings

Where Have All the Scoundrels Gone was a delightful tale of three cousins, a scheming Dowager aunt, and three young women who thought they had given up on love. Sprinkled with Cummings humor, the characters moved the story forward with romance and wooing. Where Have All the Scoundrels gone was such a fun read, the three cousins all thought they were smarter than their dowager aunt, who had assembled twenty young debutantes for them to woo and marry as soon as possible. They weren’t having it, though, and rather went for three slightly older ladies instead. The seduction was well done, and I felt wooed as well, because these cousins could truly bring it! In true Cummings style, Where Have […]

Review: Bounty – Kristen Ashley

Review: Bounty – Kristen Ashley

Bounty proved that there is more to life than fame and money, and while Justice had all that, she had so much more! Justice and Deke were the bomb together, and I loved that they had a connection in the past. Bounty was such a great title for their story, too, because they were both very aware to be thankful for what they had. Justice being a music star, and someone Deke thought would be high maintenance made him quite distant with her, though, and she never understood why. As he was working on renovating her house with her already living in it, they saw each other every day, and there was both hot chemistry and a strong connection between […]

Review: Rock F*ck Club – Michelle Mankin

Review: Rock F*ck Club – Michelle Mankin

Rock F*ck Club is a hot little number, where a woman takes back control and goes on a quest of rock stars to take back power and control. Rock F*ck Club started with Raven seeing something that can’t be unseen – her rockstar boyfriend with another girl. Totally doing it, and then asking her to join in so as to not be a bore. At first, she was devastated, but then she decided that she really should live things up and be less boring. But only on her own terms, not someone else’s. Strong, empowered women are often seen as bullies, sluts, ‘manly’, noisy… Rock F*ck Club managed to take the slut part out of the equation, even as Raven […]

Review: For You – Kristen Ashley

Review: For You – Kristen Ashley

For You is simply excellent – romance, suspense, 2nd chances, friendships, small town – it’s ALL good I have always been a huge fan of second chance romances, and For You delivered a very delicious one! February and Alexander could have had it all. They seemed destined to be together and started dating in high school. Then, something happened, and February broke up with Alexander. She went on a wild streak, and ultimately married another man. After that marriage ended in disaster, February kind of ran away from home and went around the US working in bars. Never getting too close to anyone, until she gets called home to help her brother run the family bar. Once she is home, […]

Review: Breathe – Kristen Ashley

Review: Breathe – Kristen Ashley

Breathe was amazing! I think it’s the Colorado Mountain story that played with my feels the most! I cried. I laughed. And it was righteous! Not only did I stay up until after 3 am to finish Breathe, I had to message Brandee while I was reading because there was so much going on, and I knew she’d know straight away what I was talking about! Good thing we live in different time zones – at least this once it made me happy. For someone who usually rolls her eyes at ‘older’ virgins in her romance novels, I fell hard and quick for Faye! And she may have seemed very shy and reserved on the outside, but on the inside, […]

Review: Lady Luck – Kristen Ashley

Review: Lady Luck – Kristen Ashley

Lady Luck was more tender than the other stories in this series, both Ty and Lexie had been through hell, and it wasn’t over by a long shot. The beginning of Lady Luck showed me straight away that this was going to be a quite unconventional romance! Lexie and Ty were strangers, but somehow, Lexie had been persuaded to pick up Ty when he left prison after several year on the inside where he served time for murder. And she was to drive him wherever he wanted to go. Little did she know that Ty had planned to marry the woman whom he had arranged for to pick him up. And his first stop after prison was Las Vegas. Not […]

Review: Sweet Dreams – Kristen Ashley

Review: Sweet Dreams – Kristen Ashley

Delicious, dangerous, romantic, hot, emotional… I’m pretty sure I could find many more adjectives to describe Sweet Dreams. I don’t even know where to start without squeeing about Sweet Dreams! Lauren was so lost until she arrived in Carnal, and even then, it took her a while to start finding herself again. And Tate… *shakes head*… *sighs*… Tate was definitely something. Book boyfriend deluxe comes to mind as a way to describe him. I loved that both Lauren and Tate were over 40. That they had lived their lives a bit before meeting each other. And that they really didn’t get along when they first met. And there was so much going on in this story, too. Lauren had been […]

Review: The Gamble – Kristen Ashley

Review: The Gamble – Kristen Ashley

Sweet, hot, mysterious… The Gamble brought out all the feels! Great characters, a solid plot, and so much romance. Not sure my The Gamble review will be all that coherent, because I’m still a bundle of feels over Nina and Max! I loved both of them from the very start. The little nicknames, how Max took care of Nina even if he wanted her out of his house at first, and the incredible chemistry between them. I have always enjoyed KA’s stories, but I have to say that this one really had everything going for it. There is a mystery, an annoying father, new friends to meet… Plus, there are some past issues in both Max and Nina’s lives that need […]
