Review: Up From the Grave (Night Huntress #7) – Jeaniene Frost

Review: Up From the Grave (Night Huntress #7) – Jeaniene Frost

Up From the Grave is the last installment in one of my favorite series ever, and wow, did it take me for a wild ride! My emotions were all over the place, and this review is going to be very hard to write without spoiling anything – but I still promise there are no spoilers. Cat is true to herself in Up From the Grave – always ready to give her all to save the ones she care about, and there is a lot of sacrifice going on in this story. However, a lot can be achieved with a little help from our friends, right? From on crisis to the next, there is never a dull moment, and a lot […]

Review: A Night to Surrender (Spindle Cove #1) – Tessa Dare

Review: A Night to Surrender (Spindle Cove #1) – Tessa Dare

A Night to Surrender is a truly delightful story! I fell in love with Susanna from the very beginning, it was so refreshing to read about a regency era heroine who is intelligent, strong-minded and who won’t back down from a challenge. Disappointed with her own debut, she has decided to help young women in a safe environment, and Spindle Cove is the perfect place for it. Susanna grew up there, and now she brings shy, unconventional-looking or too brazen women to the same place, to help them all advance in some field. Susanna herself is quite unconventional, and she does not believe women should always be demure, obey men and not enlighten themselves in science or other matters usually […]

Review: Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) – Jeaniene Frost

Review: Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) – Jeaniene Frost

Twice Tempted is book #2 in the Night Prince series, and it continues showing how complex Vlad is, and what Leila needs to be happy living in his castle. I love how controlling Vlad has always seemed to me, yet with Leila there is something more soft and caring about him. But there are some concessions he won’t make though – saying ‘I love you’ is one of them. Showing the difference between Leila and Vlad based on their life experience, and Leila doesn’t have her powers anymore at the beginning of Twice Tempted, and it seems to her that since she lost her powers, Vlad has lost interest in her. She is sad, and doesn’t know what to do […]

Review: The Scandalous, Dissolute, No Good Mr. Wright – Tessa Dare

Review: The Scandalous, Dissolute, No Good Mr. Wright – Tessa Dare

*I received a free ARC of The Scandalous, Dissolute, No Good Mr. Wright from Avon Books via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review* The Scandalous, Dissolute, No Good Mr. Wright is a fun and romantic book, about the man Eliza really should stay far, far away from. When she meets him for the first time, she finds him quite different from the rake she’d imagined, though… Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: Wild About You (Love at Stake #13) – Kerrelyn Sparks

*I received a free ARC of Wild About You from Avonbooks / Harper Voyager via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review.* Love at Stake is my favorite series, and Wild About You lived up to my expectations. The mystery that went on from Wanted Undead or Alive was well done, and I was a happy reader indeed. Review: Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake #12) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Review: Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake #12) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Wanted: Undead or alive left me with a first impressionl, I, who often don’t even notice covers, have to just mention this cover. That guy on the cover just can’t be Dr. Phang! Dr. Phang is black – that guy over there is definitely not black. I don’t understand why someone else is on the cover of Phang’s book. There, now that’s off my chest. Wanted: Undead or Alive was quite slow in comparison to the other books in this series, but the relationship budding between Phinneas and Brynley was well suited to go slow. And it permitted the readers to really get to know both of them a lot better, and to understand their hang-ups and their defensive mechanisms. […]

Review: Once Burned (Night Prince #1) – Jeaniene Frost

Review: Once Burned (Night Prince #1) – Jeaniene Frost

In Once Burned, Leila started out like just a weird young woman with a strange power, but she quickly grew to become a very strong opponent, even against powerful vampires! The way she found out that she could link to vampires, and that those who could read minds could talk back at her was hilarious, and I loved how she never flinched in the face of danger. Jeanine Frost always manages to make her female protagonists strong, level-headed and real. I think one of the things I loved the most about Leila was that she used to be a gymnast, and that she turned her childhood bullies’ nick-name for her into a new identity she could use to strengthen herself. […]
