Audio Review: Tragic – J.A. Huss

Audio Review: Tragic – J.A. Huss

Tragic is one of my favorite Huss stories, and it was a treat to listen to the audio – the narrators brought the characters to life perfectly! My Tragic audioreview: At the beginning of listening to Tragic, I had a little trouble with the male narrator, especially because his French accent didn’t sound French at all, but also because he made a very squeaky voice when he was sharing something Rook said, but from Ronin’s point of view. The female narrator nailed it, though, and most of the chapters were from Rook’s perspective, so I was completely gone in the story very quickly. I read the whole Rook and Ronin series a while ago, and listening to Tragic brought some […]

#Audio #Bookreview: Unholy Magic – Stacia Kane

#Audio #Bookreview: Unholy Magic – Stacia Kane

Unholy Magic is even more gripping, gritty and edgy when it’s narrated by Bahni Turpin! Chess and all her emotions are portrayed so well, as are Terrible and the other characters, too. My Unholy Magic audioreview: Unholy Magic was an amazing story for me to read several years ago, and listening to it made it more. More emotions. More connection with the characters. More in-depth story-telling. I was completely engrossed from start to finish. Bahni Turpin is so good at doing the different voices, accents… it’s easy to know who is talking with her narration. I was also even more amazed with Chess while listening to Unholy Magic. She is so strong and capable, but at the same time, so […]

Audioreview: Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover

Audioreview: Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover

Listening to Ugly Love made the story somehow feel closer to me, the characters were literally telling me their story. My Ugly Love audioreview: The narration was so good, I really felt like I was listening to Miles and Tate throughout Ugly Love, and that was both very good, and sometimes a little strange. When I read my kindle version of Ugly Love, I cried so much, and so ugly in many places. And I actually enjoyed the story more when I read it myself, even if I really did enjoy listening to the audio version as well. For one, listening to Miles go on and on about Rachel, from the very first time they met made him seem a […]

Audio Review: Unholy Ghosts – Stacia Kane

Audio Review: Unholy Ghosts – Stacia Kane

Unholy Ghosts in audioversion is even better than the written version, if that is even possible! Bahni Turpin’s narration brought the awesomeness to a whole new level, with her changes in pitch, pace, and the way she ‘was’ each of the characters I’ve come to know and love in the Downside Ghosts series. My Unholy Ghosts audio review: I am still new to audiobooks, but I think Unholy Ghosts managed to really whet my appetite, and to be able to live the story because someone talented tells it to me is such a great experience. Each time Turpin narrated Lex, I could hear the kind of teasing smile in her voice, and if Chess was upset about something, it could […]

Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

When I first read Hopeless, I think it became my favorite Colleen Hoover story, because it is so very deep, and so very gritty, and my emotions were all over the place because Sky and her past were unraveling so very slowly. And I adored both Sky and Holder, and I was fond of Six, too, even if she didn’t stay for the whole story. Listening to the audiobook brought all my feelings from Hopeless even more to the surface! I was crying two rivers on the bus one day on my way to Uni, and I would have much rather stayed on the bus all the listening to the story than going to class. Angela Goethals narrates Hopeless beautifully, […]

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Maybe Someday is a book I gave four stars to when I read the ARC just before it was released. I was a little bit hung up with the cheating, thinking of cheating and waffling on both Ridge’s and Sydney’s parts. Especially because I enjoyed Maggie and I felt so bad for her, even if Ridge and Sydney never actually crossed the line and did cheat. However, listening to Maybe Someday, with a male and a female narrator made the experience very different. I was drawn into their conflicting feelings, and the way they were both holding back for fear of hurting Maggie, even as they were hurting themselves. And since each chapter is from either Ridge or Sydney’s point […]

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

I fell in love with Ms. Hoover’s writing when I read Slammed a while back, and after that, I continued reading all of her stories, and I am always somewhat mesmerized by the writing, the characters and the way the story draws me in completely. So when I discovered Audible, I decided I wanted to listen to some books that I thought would be even better when narrated in a good way. As I have already reviewed the written copy of Slammed, I will concentrate on the narration in this review, and it might be quite a bit shorter – this is my first ever audiobook review, and I can only say I was completely thrilled! Listening to a story […]
