Review: Bounty – Kristen Ashley

Review: Bounty – Kristen Ashley

Bounty proved that there is more to life than fame and money, and while Justice had all that, she had so much more! Justice and Deke were the bomb together, and I loved that they had a connection in the past. Bounty was such a great title for their story, too, because they were both very aware to be thankful for what they had. Justice being a music star, and someone Deke thought would be high maintenance made him quite distant with her, though, and she never understood why. As he was working on renovating her house with her already living in it, they saw each other every day, and there was both hot chemistry and a strong connection between […]

Review: Silver Silence – Nalini Singh

Review: Silver Silence – Nalini Singh

Silver Silence has all the things I love about the Psy-Changeling series – a strong female lead, mystery and suspense, all the feels and hotness Silver fucking Merchant totally got to me in Silver Silence! And she sure got to a certain bear as well. Every single feel there is was invested in Valentin’s and Silver’s story, and I  loved how the overall story-arch and plot moved forward. If you’ve visited me before, you know I’m a huge Nalini Singh fan, and that was definitely cemented with Silver Silence. All the awesomeness. Silver was a character I had met several times in the prior Psy-Changeling books, as she was Kaleb’s assistant. She always seemed to be so distant and cold […]

Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Kaleidoscope had some beautiful metaphors, but Emme and Deck didn’t wow me as much as other Colorado Mountain couples have. The main thing that made Kaleidoscope less enjoyable to me was that in many ways, Emme was just too high strung and high maintenance for me. I did get why at the very end, but by that time, I didn’t care that much anymore. I totally loved Deck, though, and the connections he had both with the rest of the Colorado Mountain men, and with the Rock Chick guys. One thing I love with Kristen Ashley is the strong sense of community, and that was present in Kaleidoscope as well. So was both the incredible mystery, the suspense, and the […]

Review: Legion – Julie Kagawa

Review: Legion – Julie Kagawa

Legion brought my favorite dragons and their struggles to a complete new level of epicness! The action and the final fight at the end gave me heart palpitations! Because of the way Soldier ended, I knew there would be some heartache in Legion, but I had no idea just how much! Ember, however, stepped up and took on all the responsibility she could – while staying true to herself and her beliefs. The plan Talon was putting into action was chilling to say the least, and I really didn’t think things would end well. Main feel was probably fear! After being captured by Talon, Ember learned that her own fate was supposed to be much bleaker than anything she could […]

Review: Jagged – Kristen Ashley

Review: Jagged – Kristen Ashley

The romance and the closeness in Jagged hit me right in the chest – it was beautiful! One of the things I loved the most about Jagged was the fact that Ham’s voice got jagged in certain situations. And I have to say, my feels with this story were completely off the charts. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank Brandee enough for introducing me to Kristen Ashley’s books! The characters are grown-ups, which is something I find refreshing in romance, and while there was still a bit of drama, the action, the suspense, and the relationships were all easy to relate to, and I found I had a lot of love for the characters as they went […]

Review: Abduction – Cynthia Eden

Review: Abduction – Cynthia Eden

Abduction is a tight suspense thriller with romance and a mysterious stalker, where Jill and Hayden just want to start over again, but so does the abductor. The suspense part of Abduction was really well done, because little by little, we learned about how Jill was abducted as a child, and Hayden saved her… This has been haunting both of them ever since, Jill so much so that she started working for the FBI finding missing children. Hayden had been seen as the main thug in Hope until he saved Jill that day, and it changed his life. But he still let her go once they were adults, as he didn’t think he was good enough for her. I think […]

Review: Hard Justice – Lori Foster

Review: Hard Justice – Lori Foster

Hard Justice had all the romance, suspense, friendship, hotness and action I have come to love in Foster’s novels! Both Justice and Fallon were characters I enjoyed from when I first met them in Hard Justice. Fallon was a heroine who could have been impossible to enjoy or relate to, but even with her sheltered life and the tragedy in her past, she was a positive, strong character I loved more with each page. Justice wasn’t an unknown to me, as he first showed up in the Ultimate series, and I have to say that he really shone in his role as both bodyguard and romantic lead. The suspense in Hard Justice kept me guessing, and I really enjoyed that […]

Review: For You – Kristen Ashley

Review: For You – Kristen Ashley

For You is simply excellent – romance, suspense, 2nd chances, friendships, small town – it’s ALL good I have always been a huge fan of second chance romances, and For You delivered a very delicious one! February and Alexander could have had it all. They seemed destined to be together and started dating in high school. Then, something happened, and February broke up with Alexander. She went on a wild streak, and ultimately married another man. After that marriage ended in disaster, February kind of ran away from home and went around the US working in bars. Never getting too close to anyone, until she gets called home to help her brother run the family bar. Once she is home, […]

Review: Breathe – Kristen Ashley

Review: Breathe – Kristen Ashley

Breathe was amazing! I think it’s the Colorado Mountain story that played with my feels the most! I cried. I laughed. And it was righteous! Not only did I stay up until after 3 am to finish Breathe, I had to message Brandee while I was reading because there was so much going on, and I knew she’d know straight away what I was talking about! Good thing we live in different time zones – at least this once it made me happy. For someone who usually rolls her eyes at ‘older’ virgins in her romance novels, I fell hard and quick for Faye! And she may have seemed very shy and reserved on the outside, but on the inside, […]

Review: Sting – Sandra Brown

Review: Sting – Sandra Brown

What a twisty turny mystery Sting was – there was no way for me to guess the who, the why or the how, and so the pages turned fast! It really is difficult to talk about Sting and not give anything away, because the mystery is so multi-layered and the characters kept their cards so very close to the chest. Jordie was in the worst predicament, going to meet with someone – hoping it might be her brother, only to witness a murder and then end up kidnapped. Because the narrator shared little bits of the characters’ story, kind of like the breadcrumbs Hansel and Gretel left behind. Finding the right crumbs and following them in the right direction proved […]
