Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Kaleidoscope had some beautiful metaphors, but Emme and Deck didn’t wow me as much as other Colorado Mountain couples have. The main thing that made Kaleidoscope less enjoyable to me was that in many ways, Emme was just too high strung and high maintenance for me. I did get why at the very end, but by that time, I didn’t care that much anymore. I totally loved Deck, though, and the connections he had both with the rest of the Colorado Mountain men, and with the Rock Chick guys. Turning Back was so filled with intrigue it was difficult to see which way was up and which way was down. Main feels for the beginning of Turning Back was kind of removed. I didn’t feel any of the characters, and even their smexy scenes seemed a little clinical to me. Hard Justice had all the romance, suspense, friendship, hotness and action I have come to love in Foster’s novels! Both Justice and Fallon were characters I enjoyed from when I first met them in Hard Justice. Fallon was a heroine who could have been impossible to enjoy or relate to, but even with her sheltered life and the tragedy in her past, she was a positive, strong character I loved more with each page. Wasted Lust was one of my favorite Company / Rook & Ronin stories, both because I had been so curious about Sasha, and because anything that happens in this universe is bound to be amazing… Listening to a favorite book enhances the experience in many ways, and Wasted Lust is proof of that!
