Review: Keep Her Safe – K.A. Tucker

Review: Keep Her Safe – K.A. Tucker

Watch out, everybody! Romantic suspense has a new queen, Tucker totally nailed it with Keep Her Safe. There are ugly secrets, dirty cops, a beautiful love story, and some incredibly difficult decisions to make. Story: Keep Her Safe is an excellent romantic suspense, and I have to say Tucker nailed this new writing adventure! I found the mystery part extremely well done, and the layers upon layers of deceit made me wonder about what had truly happened. It also took me a very long time to finally figure out who was the main culprit that made the evil ball start rolling. The pace was fast enough to make me feel like the story moved along nicely, and the way the […]

Review: End Game – Lisa Renee Jones

Review: End Game – Lisa Renee Jones

End Game brought a lot of pain to some of the characters, with the aftermath of the incredible cliffhanger in Bad Deeds… I loved the character growth in End Game, the depth this brought to various relationships, and the tension that was so thick it could be cut with a butcher knife. The suspense was breath-taking, and I had trouble sitting still while reading. The emotional pain the characters felt was tangible, and I had no idea how they would get through the incredibly difficult time they were facing. End Game took care of many loose ends, but not all. And there might be a story about one of the side characters from Dirty Money in the future. I, for […]

Review: Mr. and Mrs. – JA Huss

Review: Mr. and Mrs. – JA Huss

Mr. and Mrs. is the perfect ending to the Mister series, it was fun, a little mysterious and a lot romantic. I got to see my favorite Five in his element. Story: First of all, if you have not read the whole Mister series, plus Five, you should not continue reading this review, as there will be spoilers for prior books in here. Mr. and Mrs. happened on Five’s private island, and all the misters showed up for a group wedding. We got to know what Five and Rory have been up to since the ending of Five, and I loved seeing them happy with their four daughters. They were princesses in their own right, and I had so much […]

Review: Right Where We Belong – Brenda Novak

Review: Right Where We Belong – Brenda Novak

Right Where We Belong brought me right back to Silver Springs, where I followed the complicated romance between Savanna and Gavin. There was quite a bit of suspense surrounding them, and that wasn’t the only thing working against them. Story: Savanna has been through a lot since her husband was arrested for several rapes. When people in the community turned against her, she figured she had to move so she and her children wouldn’t encounter any more people screaming at her for standing by him at the beginning. Right Where We Belong then continues away from Utah, and unfolds mostly in Silver Springs. Characters: Savanna is a strong woman, who will do what she thinks is right, even when the […]

Review: Five – J.A. Huss

Review: Five – J.A. Huss

Five blew my mind. It’s a story I’ve been waiting for since forever, and Huss definitely didn’t disappoint. Story: Princess Shrike was all ready to move on with her life. With no news from five in the past six years, she figured she should just do her thing. Date. Make new friends. Vacation in the Hamptons. Until her brother Ollie sends her a message saying she has to come home. Because Five is home. There was a lot of intrigue in Five. And a lot of heartache. And quite a bit of sadness. Of course, I also got Huss’ spectacular snark. And her hotness. Plus love – Five was also filled with beautiful love. Of course, there are also secret […]

Review: Two Footsteps – Belle Brooks

Review: Two Footsteps – Belle Brooks

Two Footsteps was an excellent psychological thriller / suspense / mystery novella! I was completely captivated (pun intended) from start to finish. Story: A little dark, a lot tense, Two Footsteps definitely kept me at the edge of my seat. Who is the wolf? Why has he kidnapped Morgan? There are many clues around her when she wakes up, but none of them make sense to her. There is quite a bit of confusion, and suddenly, she wakes up outside. She’s hunted. And she has no idea how she’ll be able to get out of the wilderness alive. Characters: Morgan is married to Reid, they have two children. As she wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings, she knows her life is […]

Review: Until You Loved Me – Brenda Novak

Review: Until You Loved Me – Brenda Novak

Until You Loved Me was a beautiful story, this series just keeps getting better and better! Novak has created two very different characters who had a lot of confidence when it came to their professional lives, and even more insecurities when it came to their personal lives. I kind of fell in love with Ellie when I first met her in Until You Loved Me, because while her professional life was extremely successful, her personal life was kind of in shambles. Thanks to he best friend, though, she wasn’t allowed to stay home to wallow in her misery. Out and about in a new club, she met a very hot stranger, one who was hiding from the world because ‘everybody’ […]

Review: Sisters of Blood and Spirit – Kady Cross

Review: Sisters of Blood and Spirit – Kady Cross

Sisters of Blood and Spirit was both creepy at times and a bit sad, but more than that, it was a story about loyalty between sisters, no matter that one was dead and the other alive. And I’m kicking myself for not starting this book earlier There was a lot of action packed into the pages of Sisters of Blood and Spirit, and it was really good, too. Lark has a strong bond to her still-born sister, Wren, who lives as much in the real world as in the shadowlands. So much so that she was sent to a mental hospital for hearing voices – when all that happened was that she answered out loud when her sister was talking to […]

#Review: Built – Jay Crownover

#Review: Built – Jay Crownover

Built was a very emotional story, and my heart broke for Sayer more than once. Zeb was there to pick up the pieces and help her build a new one, though. Built definitely got to me, because Zeb and Sayer – while seemingly so different from each other – were very similar when it came to the truly important things in their lives. Sayer, holding on to control of every aspect of her life tried her best to resist, but Zeb was too persistent. Zeb was also reliable, strong and loyal and so very lovable. The whole Saints of Denver series worked well for me, and Built was one of the reasons why. The overall story, the side characters, the […]

Review: Deadly Silence – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Deadly Silence – Rebecca Zanetti

Deadly Silence was packed with action, danger and romance, and I couldn’t set the book down until I had finished reading! This series is even more fast paced than the Sin Brothers series, and that’s saying something. Deadly Silence is the first in a spin-off of the Sin Brothers series, and I do think it’s important to read that series first to get some of the things that happen this one. Especially when it comes to some of the mystery surrounding the blood brothers. And there is so much action in this story it was at such a break-neck speed it was hard to catch my breath more than once! I enjoyed both the backstory and the present story, both were important […]
