Review: Nikan Rebuilt – Scarlett Cole

Nikan Rebuilt brought out all the feels. I cried a little. And I laughed quite a lot. I swooned more than once, too. Welcome to my stop on the Nikan Rebuilt review tour – there is a giveaway, my review, and an excerpt from this fantastic story. Nikan Rebuilt definitely proved that to me, as Nikan was still dreaming of Jenny, years after their split. Years after not even knowing where in the world she might be. Until a day when […]

Review: Archangel’s Viper – Nalini Singh

Review: Archangel’s Viper – Nalini Singh

Archangel’s Viper was a whirlwind of plot, action and feels! Fast paced, with a lot at stake, I was taken for a trip I won’t soon forget. Story: Archangel’s Viper is about Holly and Venom, and the attraction between them. It’s also about the voice Holly hears in her mind, and how she’s grown extremely strong and fast in a short time. She needs discipline, which Venom has in spades. But she needs more than being a fighter, too. Venom and Holly go on a dangerous trip to figure out what is happening to her, and not one, but two Archangels are needed to deal with some of the things that come up on that trip. I loved getting to […]

Review: Worth the Wait – Lori Foster

Review: Worth the Wait – Lori Foster

Worth the Wait bears its title very well! I loved this story, even though it followed one main couple, plus another couple who got less time allotted to them. The writing is so good, and there’s some well-timed suspense as well as the romance. Hogan had been through the wringer more than once, and Worth the Wait was really about how he was worth waiting for. Violet was attracted to Hogan, but she didn’t want to be just another notch on his bedpost. I was intrigued by Hogan when I first met him in Don’t Tempt Me, and his story was really good. He had quite a bit of thinking through his past to do, before he could completely open […]

Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Review: Kaleidoscope – Kristen Ashley

Kaleidoscope had some beautiful metaphors, but Emme and Deck didn’t wow me as much as other Colorado Mountain couples have. The main thing that made Kaleidoscope less enjoyable to me was that in many ways, Emme was just too high strung and high maintenance for me. I did get why at the very end, but by that time, I didn’t care that much anymore. I totally loved Deck, though, and the connections he had both with the rest of the Colorado Mountain men, and with the Rock Chick guys. One thing I love with Kristen Ashley is the strong sense of community, and that was present in Kaleidoscope as well. So was both the incredible mystery, the suspense, and the […]

Audioreview: The Pact – Karina Halle

Audioreview: The Pact – Karina Halle

The Pact is the first in Halle’s McGregor series – which works completely as stand-alone novels! – but my second. And oh my, how I loved Linden and Stephanie! I buddy-listened to The Pact with my dear blogger-wife Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee. So I’m sharing some stuff we chatted about after we were both finished. There might be some slight spoilers, so beware! Me: Both Kayla and James really, really piss me off!!! I’m almost at the end of The Pact… Brandee: Me too! I almost couldn’t stand James.

How can Steph be happy for James?? I would kick him in the nuts if I were her! I completely agree. He was a total schmuck. So self-centered. I’d kick him […]

Review: A SEAL’s Touch – Tawny Weber

Review: A SEAL’s Touch – Tawny Weber

A SEAL’s Touch made me tingle all over – I love a good friends to lovers story, and Weber delivered on all the things I enjoy with that particular romance trope. Not only do I love friends to lovers, I love it even more when the two friends are completely unaware of how attractive the other person finds them 🙂 Of course, the fact that they already enjoy each other’s company is a huge added bonus, and the sexy and funny banter between Taylor and Cat was off the charts. A SEAL’s Touch can be read as a standalone, as there are only glimpses of other characters from other books in the series. The humour was a big part of […]

Review: Declaration of Courtship – Nalini Singh

Review: Declaration of Courtship – Nalini Singh

I have missed the psy-changeling universe, and Declaration of Courtship was the perfect cure! Very cleverly done, with an unconventional romance between an alpha lieutenant and a submissive female, I can’t stop smiling at their loving interactions! Singh was so very clever with Declaration of Courtship! I am not always a fan of novellas, because they feel somehow rushed in many ways. At the beginning of this one, however, it was made clear that Cooper and Grace had wanted each other ever since she joined the Snow Dancer pack six months ago. Thus, what might have felt like a rushed romance wasn’t rushed at all, and the story spanned over enough time for the courtship to be delectable. Grace was […]

Review: Touch & Go – Mira Lyn Kelly

Review: Touch & Go – Mira Lyn Kelly

Touch & Go is extremely hot, and I loved how Sam and Ava had been friends since they were kids, both of them hanging on to their friendship when their hormones told them there could be much more for them in store. Touch & Go is one of the best friends to lovers romances I have ever had the pleasure of reading! Sam and Ava had chemistry galore, but they were both hiding behind their long friendship, until that just wasn’t possible anymore. When Sam agreed to be Ava’s ‘date’ to a party at her workplace, to keep a colleague from continuing to try to pick her up, they shared one of the hottest kisses in history, and let’s just […]

Review and Giveaway : Anything For You – Kristan Higgins

Review and Giveaway : Anything For You – Kristan Higgins

Nostalgic, achingly tender and sweet – Anything for You showed the extremely slow development of Jess and Connor’s relationship. All the characters we already know and love in Blue Heron were present as well. I have to admit I felt really bad for Connor with the beginning of Anything For You! He had prepared a very romantic evening for his on-again off-again girlfriend Jess, complete with a diamond ring to ask her to marry him – only to have her think he was adorable, but of course, the answer was no. As the story moved forward, though, with flash-backs to their childhoods, teenage years and early adult-hood, it became very clear that Jess was right. Of course the answer was […]
