Blogger Wife Chat Double Review ~ Lawless & Soulless ~ T.M. Frazier

Blogger Wife Chat Double Review ~ Lawless & Soulless ~ T.M. Frazier

I don’t know why by Lawless & Soulless seemed to resonate with me even more than King & Tyrant. They were gripping, gritty, and fantastic! I think, though, it might be that Frazier’s writing gets tighter with each book. 🙂 I know this is a double review, wifey, but I want to let you know in advance that my questions are not in order. They come from my thoughts upon finishing both books. I agree, with each book I’ve read from Frazier, the writing is tighter, the character development somehow more, and the overall story and plot just even better 🙂 We are so lucky to have gotten our hands on her books, right?   The way that Bear and […]

Review ~ Raze ~ Tillie Cole

Review ~ Raze ~ Tillie Cole

Raze served as my introduction to Tillie Cole. I have a contemporary romance by her I’m going to have to read so I can compare it to this dark romance, but I’m fairly certain this was her first foray into the dark side. Although I liked the premise, I found the execution to be a little bumpy. Kisa is Bratva, the daughter of one of the rulers of the Russian mafia in New York. Years ago she lost the man (boy at the time) who was her soulmate – so destined to be hers that a part of her eye color smudged his iris. Since then, she’s been given to another Bratva guy and she’s set to marry him. […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Over the Edge ~ CD Reiss

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Over the Edge ~ CD Reiss

Lexxie and I read CD Reiss’ The Edge series for the Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge. Yep. We finished the series! Yay!! In our chat, we’ve tried to be as vague as possible so as not to spoil anything. 😉 There seemed to be no limit to what Greyson would do for Caden – for love. What I appreciated about this one act is how Reiss used it to create a role reversal of sorts. I loved that Caden had to step into Greyson’s shoes, protect her, fight for her, help her. And he felt inept at times but he continued because he loved her. How did you feel about Greyson’s act and how it affected […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Dirty Ones ~ JA Huss #2018NewRelease

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Dirty Ones ~ JA Huss #2018NewRelease

Wowza! That was some twisty, suspenseful, and steamy goodness! Huss is a master of the mind f*ck and she went all out in The Dirty Ones! I know, right? My mind twisted and turned, and it was impossible to figure out what was going on. I went from one shock to another, and I swear, my eyes almost bugged out of my head there for a while 😀   I don’t know that I could get a real good feel for any of the characters initially. But I liked Kiera right off the bat. She had an amazing outlook/attitude. Connor’s reaction at the airport was circumspect. I couldn’t figure out why he was so agitated although it became clear before […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Broken Edge ~ CD Reiss

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Broken Edge ~ CD Reiss

Lexxie and I are reading CD Reiss’ The Edge series for the Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge. We’re trying to be as vague as possible in our discussions so as not to spoil anything. 😉 Wow! In Broken Edge the tension continues to rise with the stakes getting higher. My instinct not to trust certain people was validated but with more people introduced, I don’t know who can be trusted. And that ending left me hanging from the broken edge. Oh my gosh! Yes, the stakes keep getting higher. I didn’t even know that was possible. There is nobody I can trust at all – I’m not even sure Greyson and Caden can be trusted at […]

Jane Colette, so it’s as clean as she could manage–it was hard) excerpt, and a chance to win a PRINT copy of Text Me, Cupid. Check it out: Text Me, Cupid a (slightly) dirty love story for 21st century adults who don’t believe in true love… but want it anyway by M. Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ On the Edge ~ CD Reiss

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ On the Edge ~ CD Reiss

Lexxie and I are reading CD Reiss’ The Edge series for the Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge. We’re trying to be as vague as possible in our discussions so as not to spoil anything. 😉 On the Edge too me out onto the ledge and left me there. I honestly don’t know how Reiss took it up a notch but she totally did. It was an edge-of-my-seat read, keeping me guessing and turning in circles trying to figure it all out. And I’m still working on it, wifey. I agree, there was so much going on, and it was impossible to try to figure anything out. I just felt so bad for both Caden and Greyson. […]

Berk Reviews ~ Holding Up the Universe ~ Jennifer Niven

Berk Reviews ~ Holding Up the Universe ~ Jennifer Niven

The following review of Holding Up the Universe is courtesy of my younger daughter, Berk. Back when I was blogging solo I occasionally put my kids, who are all avid readers, to work 😉 by having them write reviews. This review is one I had leftover and since Berk really enjoyed Holding Up the Universe I thought I’d share her thoughts with you.   What I Liked: The characters were well developed with strong backgrounds. The story conveyed a more realistic version of high school. The way Niven dealt with anxiety was well done and much needed in teen literature.   What I Liked Less: The love element between Libby and Jack seemed forced and I didn’t feel like it […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Rough Edge – CD Reiss

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Rough Edge – CD Reiss

Lexxie and I are reading CD Reiss’ The Edge series for the Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge. We’re trying to be as vague as possible in our discussions so as not to spoil anything. 😉 Oh wow – I think this series is going to kill me, wifey! After I finished the prequel (which was actually released after Rough Edge!) I was already intrigued and wanted more. But now – now, I know I’m going to binge the rest of this like a mad-woman. What did you think of Caden and Greyson in their civilian lives? I found this part of their romance to be both very dark and very sweet. It just may kill me […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Cutting Edge ~ CD Reiss

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Cutting Edge ~ CD Reiss

The Cutting Edge served to prove how adept at writing compelling stories Reiss is. She not only put me in a combat hospital in Balad by drawing images to vivid they were visceral, she also drew characters I’m completely invested in. This is my first series by Reiss, and I just don’t understand why I waited so long! I agree – those images were visceral, and the characters hooked me very quickly! I admit to going into The Cutting Edge blind, wifey. Reiss is an auto-buy so I didn’t even remember/know what the story was about when I started it. However, she gripped me immediately and didn’t let go. She delivered a compelling, at times gut-wrenching, at times humorous, at […]
