A visit with Mercy Thompson usually leaves me satisfied and happy, and Fire Touched is no different. This story had a little bit of everything that makes the series amazing. There is a lot going on in Fire Touched! There is a troll going amok on a bridge, Baba Yaga shows up saying she might be able to help Mercy, and Adam takes a stand when it comes to the pack – after Mercy takes a stand when it comes to her city and what the fey think will happen in the future. Review: Mercy Thompson: Hopcross Jilly – Patricia Briggs

Hopcross Jilly is a new story in the Mercy Thompson universe, and reading this graphic novel was fun! My Hopcross Jilly review: I was a little surprised to enjoy Hopcross Jilly so much, both because I’m not reading graphic novels very often, and because Jessie, not Mercy was the main character in this story. The illustrator did a really good job at portraying the darkness of the story, as many of the pages only had black panels, in which the characters were drawn as if they were in the shadows. Night Broken is fast-paced and filled with action, fights and romance, on top of that, there’s a little drama because Adam’s ex comes to stay with them – for once seeking help and comfort from the pack. Review: Dead Heat – Patricia Briggs

Dead Heat showed a different side to Charles that was very welcome, seeing how he interacted with a human friend who had grown old and was dying made Charles seem more human as well. My Dead Heat review: I really enjoyed this other side to Charles, it made it easier to see exactly what Anna has seen in him from the very beginning as well.
