Review: Double Play – Jill Shalvis

Review: Double Play – Jill Shalvis

Double Play has delicious romance, anticipation and longing, but it also has some mystery, lots of sports and a dash of intrigue. My Double Play review: From the start, I really enjoyed both Pace and Holly, they were passionate about their work, and never let anything get in the way of doing the job they were paid to do… until they met each other and the attraction between them was strong, if somewhat reluctant. Holly is following The Heat through several games of the baseball season, and her speciality is ferreting out secrets. She can see why Pace has been on the covers of both sports-magazines and others in the past, besides being very good looking, he also has charm […]

Review: A Christmas to Remember – Jill Shalvis et al.

Review: A Christmas to Remember – Jill Shalvis et al.

A Christmas to Remember has five sweet stories about finding love during the Christmas holiday, some really touched my heart. My A Christmas to Remember review: In Jill Shalvis’ Dream a Little Dream, I was swept off my feet! Melissa and Ian already knew each other at the beginning of the story, they had even been friends with benefits for a while, until Ian wanted more. Their history, made their interactions believable, the connection was already there. One of the things I enjoyed the most was the Ian had to save Melissa, and later on, she saved him right back! And their tenderness and chemistry made my heart beat with a steady beat throughout the story that made a very […]

Review: He’s So Fine – Jill Shalvis

Review: He’s So Fine – Jill Shalvis

At the end of He’s So Fine, I found myself with a silly, cheesy smile of my face, just feeling the happiness of another awesome Lucky Harbor story. My He’s So Fine review: As usual, my visit to Lucky Harbor was utterly satisfying. I loved getting to know both Olivia and Cole better, they both had pretty much a fixed idea about what they wanted about life, and being in a romantic relationship was not part of the plan. He’s So Fine was both sweet and hot, and the tentative relationship that Olivia and Cole were building was heartwarming. I always feel like I’m going to visit with my favorite friends when I read about Lucky Harbor, and He’s So […]

Review: It’s In His Kiss – Jill Shalvis

Review: It’s In His Kiss – Jill Shalvis

*I received a free ARC of It’s In His Kiss from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Hot, sweet and romantic, It’s In His Kiss is an awesome new installment in the Lucky Harbor series. My It’s In His Kiss review: It’s In His Kiss is incredibly sweet and filled with longing. Becca has arrived in Lucky Harbor to try to patch her life back together, and she has quite a few issues she needs to work through. But Sexy Grumpy Surfer aka Sam makes it difficult for Becca to focus, which leads to quite a few funny and hot scenes. As usual, the sense of community in Lucky Harbor reaches out to Becca, […]

Review: Then Came You – Jill Shalvis

*I received a free ARC of Then Came You from Penguin Group Berkley via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Then Came You hit exactly the right spot, a perfect balance of romance, friendship, hotness and cute animals – I loved how this story unfolded from start to finish. My Then Came You review: Then Came You has everything I look for in a contemporary romance story: likable characters, something that makes one of them think their relationship won’t or shouldn’t work, some very hot romantic tension and a great story where I want to go back and read all of the prior Animal Magnetism stories that came before it. There is, of course, also an underlying humor following […]

Review: Bare Essentials – Jill Shalvis, Leslie Kelly

Review: Bare Essentials – Jill Shalvis, Leslie Kelly

*I received a free ARC of Bare Essentials from Harlequin via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Bare Essentials contains two pretty long novellas, the first one is Naughty but Nice by Jill Shalvis, and as with most of her books, I was drawn into the story from the very start, both by the quirky but hot characters, the sexual tension and the humor. Between Cassie and Tag, there is first nothing at all, apart maybe some kind of awareness, before they both decide the other couldn’t be more wrong for them if they tried. And that made the story so humorous. Cassie had it a little tough growing up in the small town, though, especially because her mother […]

#COYER Review: Once in a Lifetime (Lucky Harbor #9) – Jill Shalvis

#COYER Review: Once in a Lifetime (Lucky Harbor #9) – Jill Shalvis

*I received a free ARC of Once in a Lifetime from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* There is something so familiar and utterly satisfying about Lucky Harbor – and Once in a Lifetime hit exactly the right spot! Aubrey and Ben are both very attaching characters, I could relate to them, and I could like them – even if neither of them are perfect! Aubrey is not exactly satisfied with the way her life is going at the beginning of Once in  a Lifetime, and when she accidentally throws her drink in Ben’s face, before running away, she has an uncomfortable run-in with her ex. When she leaves, Aubrey somehow finds herself in […]

Review: Her Sexiest Mistake – Jill Shalvis

Review: Her Sexiest Mistake – Jill Shalvis

*I received a free ARC of Her Sexiest Mistake from Grand Central Publishing via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Her Sexiest Mistake has all the ingredients a fun and sexy contemporary romance needs to keep me entertained, and on my toes while reading. Mia thinks she has it all – she is far, far away from the trailer park she grew up in, she has a great job, and her life is nice and orderly – with no man to mess things up for her. That is, until Kevin moves in and she can’t help but flirt with him. She wants to keep it very casual, though, only sex and play, no serious business at all for her […]

Review: Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor #6) – Jill Shalvis

*I got a free copy of Forever and a Day from the Grand Central via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.*  Forever and a Day is my favorite Lucky Harbor novel, I like it even more than I liked At last! Grace is a little clumsy, but such a cute heroine anyway, and Scott is the forbidding doctor who thinks he doesn’t have time for love. At Last (Lucky Harbor #5) – Jill Shalvis

At Last (Lucky Harbor #5) – Jill Shalvis

*I got a free ARC of At Last from Forever via netgalley in exchange of an honest review* At Last is sweet, hot, romantic, delightful and touching. Amy is so sweet and insecure, even if she is hiding behind a pretty tough armour not to show what she is feeling at any time. Matt is hot – good thing he only exists in a story, or I might have had to try to find Lucky Harbor on a map and go on a trip *grins* The chocolate quotes at the beginning of each chapter had me each time – so funny, and oh so accurate. Chocolate can solve almost any problem that can ever arise. I love how both Amy […]
