Review: The Schemer – Avery Flynn

Review: The Schemer – Avery Flynn

The Schemer was a fun, hot read, where the main characters did everything they could not to fall in love with each other. Story: Both Tyler and Everly made me swoon! The Schemer – Tyler, thought he had everything he had ever dreamed of. Until Everly moved into the apartment above his. Stomping her high heals at all hours of the day and night, and generally pissing him off. Everly knew from the first time they met that Tyler was not the guy for her. Embarrassed of his humble upbringing, he didn’t even speak in his Waterbury accent anymore. And she was a proud Riverside woman. Never one to let her past bring her down! The Schemer happens just after […]

Review: The Charmer – Avery Flynn

Review: The Charmer – Avery Flynn

The Charmer was both charming, hot and sweet! I loved Hudson and Felicia – even as they were both trying to deny their feelings for the other. Story: The Charmer shows a different aspect of Hudson – he was the aloof brother in The Negotiator, but here, he was quite intense. Especially when he tried not to be. When he first met Felicia, there were sparks. But Hudson tried to deny those sparks. Especially as he realized that Felicia had a thing for Tyler, his brother’s former best friend. And so, the scheming began. Hudson proposed to help Felicia land Tyler, and that sure made for some very humorous moments. The Charmer was full of hot sparks, and the chemistry […]

Audio Review: The Negotiator – Avery Flynn

Audio Review: The Negotiator – Avery Flynn

The Negotiator kept me company with laughter and steam on my way to and from work. Fun, hot and feisty, it kept things light. Story: The Negotiator helped me laugh while commuting – which is not that frequent an occurrence really. I leave the house before it’s light out, and arrive very early at work to prepare things. Getting prepared with Sawyer and Clover made everything lighter. Because his mom was always setting him up with socialites, Sawyer and his brother came up with the idea to hire a buffer. One person to keep his mom – and the bridezillas to be – at arm’s length. Only, Sawyer’s brother made sure a fun woman was the most likely candidate. One […]

Review: Trouble on Tap – Avery Flynn

Review: Trouble on Tap – Avery Flynn

In Trouble on Tap we finally get to meet the third triplet, and the second chance trope that is prevalent made my heart happy. As with the first two installments in Sweet Salvation Brewery, I buddy-read Trouble on Tap with my friend Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee, and our e-mail exchange is basically my review. We had a lot of fun chatting about this, and it makes us feel like we didn’t live on opposite sides of the world when we read the same book at the same time – and then chat about it afterwards. My Trouble on Tap review / book chat with Brandee: Brandee: I finished this morning. I’ve already had an early morning cry. *sniff* I’m so […]

Review: Hollywood on Tap – Avery Flynn

Review: Hollywood on Tap – Avery Flynn

Hollywood on Tap has the small-town feel down pat, and more about the brewery plus a very steamy romance between to characters who shouldn’t really be involved like that… Hollywood on Tap review – Book-chat with Brandee – Buddy-read Brandee: Omigoodness – I don’t know where to start! I loved Natalie and Sean’s story. I felt like I really knew them better and could empathize with them both. I can’t put my finger on the ‘why’ though. What do you think the difference is between their story and Miranda and Logan’s? I agree, I felt like I got to know both Sean and Natalie so much better! Even if it was just glimpses into their pasts, that was necessary. Like, why […]

Review: Enemies on Tap – Avery Flynn

Review: Enemies on Tap – Avery Flynn

Enemies on Tap is a fast-paced and fun romance set in a small town, in which the main character doesn’t really feel welcome anymore. Enemies on Tap review – book-chat with Brandee – Buddy-read: Brandee: I couldn’t send you my thoughts as I was reading. (James was kinda laughing…”Kinda hard to do a buddy read when you’re disconnected from the world, huh?”)  Here’s what I thought about Miranda and Logan: I like that Miranda is confident enough in her skills that she’d shoot to revamp her family’s brewery in a bid for a promotion. Lexxie: I agree that Miranda was a pretty kick-ass character on the surface, but I felt like I didn’t really get to know her all that well. […]
