Ethan went through a really bad break-up, just after his parents died in an accident and he learned that the ranch he loved was almost bankrupt. To help him cope, his friends posted a YouTube video of him, where he enumerated everything he thought a good wife should be able to offer him...

Autumn was stilled scarred from her parents' divorce that happened when she was 9. Striving for a carreer to placate her mother, she was writing for CityPretty magazine, she sees the YouTube video and has a grand idea for an article. Posting her own video as response, she is 'selected' to meet Ethan, but things really didn't go the way she planned once she arrived in Chance Creek.

*I received a free ARC of The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride from One Acre Press via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review*.

The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride is a story filled with tangled messes, lies, new love, romance and promise of a better life. A quick read, it really appealed to me! When Ethan and Autumn meet, they are both keeping a secret, and they are both lying about what they wanted from each other. Ethan’s resolve to send Autumn back to New York on the next flight falters when he sees her – she is everything he has ever dreamt of in a woman. Autumn’s heart starts beating faster when her eyes lands on Ethan, but she is still thinking about writing her article – and taking photos to supplement it.

The first evening, Ethan took Autumn out for dinner, and his best friends show up as well. There is quite a lot of drinking, and the couple can’t keep their hands off each other once they get into the car on the way home to Ethan’s ranch. Once they get inside, things heat up further, and the next morning, they are both re-thinking their possibilities for the future. Both are unsure of what the right thing to do is – and at the same time, they feel that something that feels so good can’t be wrong.

Then starts a whirlwind romance that has several things against it. Ethan doesn’t tell Autumn how that video got to be posted on YouTube, and she doesn’t share anything about her work. Ethan also omits to let Autumn know about the financial trouble the ranch; and therefore he is in, and Autumn keeps quiet on her daily ‘diary’ sessions. They really do work well together, though, and as truth by truth gets unraveled – almost always by someone other than the secretive couple – they both deal with things beautifully. Things get serious very fast, and Ethan’s ex-fiancée shows just how callous she is when she starts dropping hints left and right about how wrong Ethan and Autumn are for each other. Especially because she has a new fiancée of her own!

Without spoiling anything, I can say that The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride is a fun and quick read, where the plot complications gallop like Ethan’s horse. The writing is in third person past tense, and the readers get peeks into both Ethan’s and Autumn’s thoughts; which makes us know a lot more than the poor protagonists do at any point. I read The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride in just a day, and I was torn between chuckling at the main characters and wanting to slap them for keeping so many important things to themselves. The novel spans over one month, and it’s an understatement to say that a lot happens in that time.

If you like hot, broody cowboys and city-girls that fall in love both with the countryside and the cowboy, The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride is the book for you! There is romance galore, and some pretty steamy sex-scenes as well, and it was all well done!

A few quotes I enjoyed :

It wasn’t that she didn’t want a career. She just wanted a different one – a different life. She hated how hectic and shallow everything seemed now.

This had to be a dream, Ethan thought. Things like this didn’t happen to guys like him. When Lacey ditched him he swore he’d never be fooled by a woman again, and here he was with a dream girl, hand delivered to him, ready, willing and able not just to share his bed, but his life.

She wasn’t anything like Lacey, or his mother. She wasn’t hiding anything, she didn’t have any ulterior motives. She wanted him for him and she wouldn’t make him seek or beg or wait for her love. She would give it to him freely – more than he’d ever hoped for.
