Review Copy Cleanup 3.0 : Week 1

Posted 22 February, 2013 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes / 0 Comments

The Review Copy Cleanup is initated by Celine of  Nyx Book Reviews and Vicky of  Books, Biscuits, and Tea. This is a meme that will help us read our review copies, because some of us just can’t stop clicking the ‘request’ button at Netgalley and Edelweiss.  I know I sometimes end up with a lot of ARCs as well as new books that are being released as well. Even if I am always excited about books, there has to be some kind of hierarchy, and it’s usually my review copies that get read first. Now, I am a little behind, so The Review Copy Cleanup came just at the right time for me.

The Review Copy Cleanup meme will last until February 28th, and here’s a list of the books I plan to read this month, and that I probably should have already read:

Update on February 23: I haven’t done so well with this list… I have put Surrender to the side for now, the premise is excellent, but I had trouble staying with the characters, the writing is a little disjointed. Today, I started Beautiful Bastard, and since I started this post, I’ve gotten more ARCs not less…

Surrender by Rhiannon Paille – review here.

Running Wild by Linda Howard and Linda Jones

‘Til the World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre and Karen Duvall. I really enjoyed this one, you can find my review here.

Shadowhunters and Downworlders by Cassie Clare

Fifty Writers on Fifty Shades of Grey by Lori Perkins et al

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren. Finished on February 27 – which was a little difficult to finish, actually, review here.

The Book of Why by Nicholas Montemarano

For the time being, I have started reading Surrender, and I have to say I’m quite intrigued so far. I will uptdate this post as I progress, and I will try to not request any new books before I am done with these 🙂

    • You’re welcome Angelica 🙂 I thought it was an excellent idea – I needed a little push in the behind to get going on my review copies because I have so many newly published books from series I’m excited about.

  1. Hey Lexxie, This is a great idea. My name is Stormi and I have an addiction..I can’t help but push the request button or say yes to a copy of a book. I need help. 🙂 I also think I need a meme that is all about how to organize your review books. You know what I am horribly bad about..reading the first book in a series and then by the time the next year comes around I have forgotten about it and miss the next book. I need to be more organized. 🙁

    • LOL Stormi, I think it is a problem that is pretty common… just today, because I am organizing my review copies a little better, I have pushed that button several times, and I’ve already been accepted for three more books *sigh* when will I learn?
I am still very happy, though, so I guess this might have to be done every three months or so.
      Thanks for stopping by!

    • I am very curious about Beautiful Bastard myself. I need to be able to not see it as a certain fanfic, but just read the book I have on my kindle, though.

  3. Hi Lexie,

I’m delighted to meet you! I have to say, I’m a sidebar reader and when I looked at the number of books you’ve reviewed this year (14/90) – I read it as 1490 (without the slash)and I just about fell out of my chair, thinking you were some kind of review goddess or something!!! 🙂

Anyway, I’m participating in this challenge too (although I will probably just post a wrap-up and I also feel behind. I am participating in a Review-A-Thon this weekend to help spur me on! I left the link below in Comment Love if you’d like to stop by for the details. There’s a Twitter Chat later today – if you’re free, stop by and say hello – I’m @CreateWithJoy1

    • that sounds like a great idea! I don’t know why I let myself fall behind like this, but sometimes, I want to read more than I want to review 😀 I’ll stop by your post for sure.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  5. I think I’ve also received more ARCs than I’ve read since the beginning of the Clean Up! xD Your new ARCs do all look really good though, hope you enjoy reading them! And congrats on your progress so far 🙂
