A Tale of Two Daddies is a playground conversation between two children. The boy says he heard that the girl has two dads. The girl says that is right. She has Daddy and Poppa. True to a child's curiosity, practical questions follow.

A Tale of Two Daddies is a very sweet children’s book about a little girl who has two dads, and her friend who wonders which of her dads do what to help her out. And just like in hetero-parental families, either one or the other, or both, will be there for her when she needs a hug, help with homework, someone to braid her hair etc.

For the little girl, having two dads is just as normal as it is for other children to have a mom and a dad, or to live with only one of their parents, and the fact that this is also normal was emphasized by the way she described her daddy and her poppa, as well as the straight-forward way she talked about her home life.

Well written, with beautiful illustrations I think this is the kind of book every child could read, to better understand families that seem different from their own. The illustrations are very colorful, and I think they will appeal to children (and adults) just as much as the story will.

If you want to read a story to children about how it can be to grow up in an unconventional family, but without any cultural or social judgment, A Tale of Two Daddies is exactly the kind of book you should pick up.
