15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 5 – Tear-jerker

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 5 – Recommend a tear-jerker This great book blogger challenge is hosted by April @Good Books and Good Wine , and I really have to thank April for this excellent idea. There’s a link-up at April’s blog if you want to participate as well 🙂 Ok, so I do have a tear-jerker or more to recommend, I could probably recommend lots and lots. I don’t know why, but when a book manages to completely touch my heart, and all of my emotions, I feel like I’ve read a really great book! The last excellent tear-jerker I read that I truly loved was Ten Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker. Kacey just touched all […]

Review: Splintered (Splintered #1) – A. G. Howard

Review: Splintered (Splintered #1) – A. G. Howard

*I won an ARC of Splintered from The Midnight Garden and I’m really excited to read it!* Splintered is an amazing mixture of a re-telling and a totally new story featuring Alice in Wonderland! I am still within the confines of the story, and I truly loved both Alyssa and Jeb, even Morpheus somehow managed to sneak his way into my heart. I love fairy tales, and Splintered really is a great spin-off that I enjoyed from start to finish. Alyssa is a great main character, she has a lot of stuff to deal with, both in the real world and in Wonderland. The way the story unfolded was so well done – I felt like I was right there […]

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 4

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 4

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 4 – What is the last book you flung across a room? This great book blogger challenge is hosted by April @Good Books and Good Wine , and I really have to thank April for this excellent idea. There’s a link-up at April’s blog if you want to participate as well 🙂 Since I usually read e-books, it’s been a very long time since I literally flung a book across the room, but that feeling, that anger, that want to fling a book into the wall is one I do know. Luckily, this doesn’t really happen to me very often, as I have become quite good at avoiding books that I just can’t […]

Review: Ticket Home (Strangers on a Train) – Serena Bell

Review: Ticket Home (Strangers on a Train) – Serena Bell

Ticket Home is the fifth book in the Strangers on a Train series. Of course, these books do not have to be read in any particular order, but Ticket Home is the last one I read. Unfortunately, it is also my least favorite in the series. The playfulness and the amazing sexual tension I felt in the other stories was not as present here. I think one of the reasons why is that Amy and Jeff aren’t exactly strangers – and so the whole strangers on a train thing cannot really apply to them. And instead of sexy romance, there is a lot of anger between them, because even if Amy is still attracted to him, she is not over […]

Review: Ink (Paper Gods #1) – Amanda Sun

Review: Ink (Paper Gods #1) – Amanda Sun

*I received a free ARC of Ink from Harlequin TEEN via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review. Ink follows Katie’s first few months in Japan, where she arrives after her mother’s death to live with her aunt Diane. Language difficulties, cultural differences and adjusting to life without her parents are part of Katie’s daily life now. Making new friends, fitting in in school being the only blond and non-Asian student while trying her best to keep up with the Japanese signs and learning everything she needs while longing for her grand-parents in Canada and still being very sad and angry about her mom’s death is a big part of her as well. There were a lot of things I […]
