It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Welcome to It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? This is a meme hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey; and I think it is great to start the week with what I’m reading right this minute, and what I’ll be reading (or planning on reading, anyway) for the rest of the week.

Please visit Sheila’s blog to sign up on her linky,  that way you will have other Monday bloggers coming to visit you as well.

Last week, I read the following books:

Rise from Darkness - (un)Conventional BookviewsRise from Darkness by Ciara Knight, the first book in The Battle for Souls series is the story about Gaby who has to move very often due to her father’s work, and in this new place, she realizes there is a lot more to the world than what meets the eye.

3 stars

Fall From Grace - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe second book in Ciara Knight’s Battle for Souls series, Fall From Grace continues shortly after the end of Rise from Darkness, and shows how Gaby has a lot of work to do in order to maybe save the world.

3 stars

Ascension of Evil - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe third and last book in the Battle for Souls series, Ascension of Evil, is where the final battle between good and evil happens, and the characters have a lot of trouble knowing whom to trust.

3 stars

Wrong Ways Down - (un)Conventional BookviewsWrong Ways Down is a novella in Stacia Kane’s Downside Ghosts series, and I don’t have enough superlatives to describe how much I loved this installment, told in Terrible’s point of view.

5 stars – my review will be up tomorrow.

Right now, I’m reading

Ever After - (un)Conventional BookviewsEver After; book 11 in Kim Harrison’s The Hollows series. I don’t know how, but I thought this book was only being published in October, and I actually had it on my kindle all this time… Good thing, too, because I started having withdrawals here 🙂 so far, I love it!

Slammed - (un)Conventional BookviewsI am also listening to the audiobook of Slammed by Colleen Hoover. I love how the narrator brings the characters to life so far – it’s really well done! I haven’t listened to any audibooks before, so this is a real treat for me 🙂

And next week, I’m planning on reading the following books:

Bound by Night - (un)Conventional BookviewsBound by Night (Moonbound Clan Vampire #1) by Larissa Ione, I somehow have managed getting an ARC both from Edelweiss and Netgalley for this title, and I have no idea how that happened. Anyhow, I’m really looking forward to reading this.

The Next Best Thing - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe Next Best Thing by Kristan Higgins is a contemporary romance novel, and since I love those, and usually enjoy KH’s writing, this is another one I look forward to. I have an eARC from Netgalley for this one as well.

    • Thanks Charlotte. The Battle for Souls series is three books, but they are only around 190 pages each 🙂

      Have a great Monday!

    • There’s an ick factor? Really? Now I’m even more intrigued! I usually enjoy Kristan Higgins books myself, so I’m looking forward to this one.
      Thanks for stopping by Teddyree!

  1. Jessica@a GREAT read

Ooh nice! Love Kim Harrison! So can’t wait for her next book next year! The second to last one I believe! So shocking that it’s almost over! 🙁

    Happy Reading! 🙂

    Here’s my Monday Wrapup

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • I’m going to feel so sad when The Hollows series is over! I have read the first nine books in more or less one month, and I just want more and more 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by Jessica!

    • I know… I should just completely stay away from Netgalley and Edelweiss for a little while. But there are so many cool books there!

Thanks for stopping by Stormi 🙂

    • I have enjoyed other books by Kristan Higgins, and am looking forward to this one as well 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Nise’.

  2. I can’t wait for you review on Wrong Ways Down! 😉 And I remember you saying something about Ever After being published in Oct and I thought maybe it was a European thing! *giggles* I still need to read Pale Demon and Ever After because the next book comes out in Feb! I’m hoping Kim comes to Denver again. 🙂

I love, love, love Slammed! I hope Bound by Night.

I just finished Unstoppable by Ginger Voight – my review will be up tomorrow. I’m currently reading Stay With Me by Elyssa Patrick. My review will post Friday.

    Have a fabulous week, Lexxie!

    • I love Slammed too, and it’s really great to listen to the audio book! I chose a book I already love, and I’m really curious as to how the slamming will be when someone else is reading it for me 🙂

I hope I’ll enjoy Bound by Night as well, I usually enjoy Larissa Ione’s books, but I have no idea what to expect with this one.

LOL your fingers are faster than your brain? That’s quite a feat 😛 Thanks for stopping by, Brandee! *hugs*

  3. Heisann!

Klem 🙂

    • So far, I have loved everything in The Hollows series, so hopefully, Ever After will be good, too. Thanks for stopping by Kathy 🙂

  4. What a great lineup, Lexxie. I don’t read YA very often, but I am hoping to make time for Slammed at some point. I had it gifted to me by another blogger who insisted that it is the book to make an exception for. Enjoy your books.

    • I have already read Slammed, Belle, and I loved it so much! The audio book is pretty awesome so far as well.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂
