Goodreads Book Tag

Posted 2 August, 2016 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Uncategorized / 20 Comments

I saw this on Grace @ Rebelmommy Book Blog and thought it was a great idea for a lazy summer day… And as I’m feeling fairly lazy these days, here we go!

Goodreads Book Tag

1. What is the last book you marked as “read?”

The Offer by Karina Halle. I listened to the audiobook, and I absolutely loved it! So much fun to have the Scottish character actually have the Scottish brogue, it made things very interesting!

2. What are you currently reading?

Listening to The Pact by Karina Halle, because more Scots, and also reading Made for Sin by Stacia Kane.

3. What was the last book you marked as “to read?

The Debt, by Karina Halle. But technically, I didn’t mark it as ‘to read’ I marked it as ‘might read one day’ as that’s how I mark the books I don’t own but think I will read. Possibly. One day…

4. What book do you plan on reading next?

I have no idea! I’m really not good at planning which books to read next, as I’m a mood-reader. I have lots of ARCs, and I also have quite a lot of purchased books. Plus, I’m participating in the ‘Read a Series in a Month’ challenge, so I might pick up On the Edge series by Ilona Andrews.

5. Do you use the star rating system?

Yup, I do! and I love my purple stars here on the blog. I really do wish Goodreads would get onboard the half-stars train, though!!

6. Are you doing the 2016 reading challenge?

Yes, and I love that feature on Goodreads! It’s so nice to keep track and to set a goal at the beginning of the year. Even if I’m two books behind right now.

7. Do you have a wishlist?

Yes, but I keep that one on amazon. I guess my ‘might read one day’ shelf on Goodreads is kind of a wishlist as well, but I add all books I think I’d enjoy on there, whereas at amazon I have a list of books I really, really want.

8. What book do you plan on buying next?

Well, I have ‘It Ends With Us’ by Colleen Hoover on pre-order, and it’s out today, so that’s my next bookish purchase 🙂

9. What is your favorite quote?

“Home isn’t where you’re from, it’s where you find light when all grows dark.” – Pierce Brown, “The Golden Son”
“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.” – Paulo Coelho, “The Alchemist”

10. Who are your favorite authors?

There are many!! Colleen Hoover, KA Tucker, Richelle Mead, Ashlyn Macnamara, Tiffany Reisz, William Shakespeare, Paulo Coelho, Jill Shalvis, Nalini Singh, Maeve Binchy, Pierce Brown… there are more, but these were just off the top of my head.

11. Are you a part of any Goodreads groups?

Yeah, I’m in the Ilona Andrews fangroup, in a feminist group and in a paranormal group 🙂 I’m not all that good at actually participating in those groups, though.

12. What could Goodreads do better?

Well, I would love half-stars… Plus a way to show re-reading – as I often read a book, and then listen to it as well, and the roundabout way I have to do things just make it more complicated than it needs to be.

  1. That GoodReads tag is a nice distraction for a lazy day. Enjoyed your answers. And yes, the half-stars would be fantastic. 🙂
Good luck on your read a month in a series challenge, too.

  2. ‘Might read one day’ is such a good way to describe it! I’m disgusted by my Goodreads lists, so many books I got so excited about and then left aside. Definitely some I have to get back to!!!

  3. This is a great idea! Love how you answered all the questions – and will prepare a post for my blog as well. Thanks a lot for sharing, I just hopped to Grace and the others who did that as well and it was really fun reading all those answers to the same questions 🙂
    Have a great week and
    best wishes

God, it’s nerve wracking that GR doesn’t use half ratings. With so many readers letting them know, you’d think that they would get a move on. I’m already done with my Challenge of 150, so I’m not even sure how many I’ll read this year. Last year I set the same goal and I read 186. Since I’ve been binge reading a lot on weekends, there’s no telling where I’ll end up by December.

  5. What a fun post! I’m going to have to do this one myself. I’m right there with you on the half stars. Come on Goodreads, get it together!

  6. This is a really fun tag! I might just whip up a post like it myself 🙂 I agree, I wish GR had half stars and ways to show rereads! Love both the quotes you shared and seeing all your favorite authors! Good luck with your reading challenge! xxxx

  7. This is an awesome tag. I think I will do it too! I really wish Goodreads would do half star ratings too. I mean, I hear that from everyone. Why they haven’t added that is beyond me. I love the Goodreads Challenge too.
