YAY it’s Friday!
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. I prefer being followed via Linky or Google+; or you can like my facebook page. If you prefer e-mail or RSS, that’s good as well. I have been able to add GFC back on my blog, even if I’m still on WordPress YAY!
As you can imagine, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers better, as well as a way to find new blogs, and be seen by more people yourself.
Now on to this week’s question, which is actually an activity: Write a letter to your favorite character. Rant, rave or gush…just pretend like they are real and you just want to let them know a “few things”. – Activity courtesy of author, Kelly Walker
OK, so my letter is to Nora Grey’s (Hush, Hush series) mom :
Dear Mrs. Grey,
You are a very strange kind of mother, never present for your daughter, although her father – your husband – was killed. You leave her alone at home in the middle of nowhere, sometimes without a car, even when very strange and threatening things happen to her. Even if I agree with you that Patch is maybe not the kind of boy Nora should be with, since you don’t know him as well as I do, I would have thought you’d feel safer knowing he would be there for her? But no, you forbid her from seeing him, then take off on one of your long business trips again.
A mother should not leave her grieving, sad daughter alone like that. Especially not if there’s a shady guy hanging around her all the t ime! I don’t get why you don’t sell the stupid farm-house and take Nora with you to that city where you always have to go for work! Instead of leaving her alone all the time, in danger and afraid, and never really knowing who to trust. But if you did that, there would be no book…
Sincerely,
Oohoo!! Nice letter choice!

Haha, what a great letter, Lexxie. I have only read the first book in the Hush, Hush, series but I think that is enough for me to be able to say that I agree with you.
Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Can you imagine I actually read book number 2 and 3 as well? I must be a little masochistic, because I didn’t like either of them. And now that I know there is a book 4 in the series, I might actually end up reading that as well – don’t ask me why!
Thanks for stopping by! God helg til deg og 🙂

Great letter! I’ve only read the first book but agree with you—Mrs. Grey is a pretty neglectful mom. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. ♥♥♥

Oh, and I just remembered that Mrs. Grey’s first name is Blythe! I have no idea why I remember that now, but there you go 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Raina, I hope your weekend will be wonderful.
Haven’t read that one. Kind of want to now, though. Great letter! 😀 My FFs are at LKHill and Musings on Fantasia. (They’re different this week.) Happy Friday! 😀
LOL it made you want to read it that there’s an absent mother there? Thanks for stopping by Liesel, I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend.

Nice, Lexxie! I haven’t read these books yet (in the TBR pile) but as a mother, I like your choice and your letter. You tell her like it is! Love it!!
I’m a mom too, and I just can’t imagine a mother not being more present in her daughter’s life. At the same time, it’s a very common trope in YA, though.
Thanks for stopping by Brandee 🙂 I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend.
Great letter Lexxie! There are quite a few character parents that I would love to tell off too! Thanks for stopping by this week 🙂

LOL, parents in YA books are so absent it’s scary!
I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend!

I haven’t read this series, but nothing irritates me more than a neglectful parents which is, unfortunately, too common in literature today. Great letter! Old follower.
Happy Friday!
I agree that YA and parents don’t play well together.
Thanks for stopping by Jennifer! Have a wonderful weekend.
I like your choice of a… victim (for a lack of a better word :D). Parents in YA are always absent, but Nora’s mother was a major irritation. But I’m guessing this was a convenient plot device, so Nora and Patch can stay alone in Nora’s house without interruption. You’d think a responsible mother would really think about more security for her daughter after her husband was murdered, but no… Anyway, I was preparing for a little rant but it’s already too long 😀
I like your letter; calm and kind of chiding. Haha!
🙂 I think Blythe actually deserved a nice chiding 😀
Thanks for stopping by Eve.
Hahaha very awesome letter! You sound positively frustrated by Nora’s mum. Thanks for stalking me… I’ll be stalking you right b
Why, yes, I am 😀

Hey Lexxie! I’ve always wondered about some of the parents in our books. Sounds like one that I would be questioning as well. I really enjoyed reading your letter! Thank you so much for stopping by my FF. Old follower 😀 Jaclyn @ JC’s Book Haven
Thanks for stopping by today Jaclyn:) At first, I wondered who I would write to, and then she just became the evident character, she frustrated me so much!
