(Shinigami Eyes #1)
Most children hope to grow out of their imaginary friends.
17-year-old Rin Waters’ only hope is that hers doesn’t kill someone, especially when said imaginary friend puts a boy in a coma. Finding herself shipped half-way around the world—to Japan, of all places—she is forced to live with grandparents she hasn’t seen for ten years and a cousin she can’t even remember.
Rin would rather just forget about the one night that ruined her life and pretend her imaginary friend doesn’t exist—if it was only that easy. When manga-obsessed otaku, Matt, won’t stop pestering her about a manga that sees the future and the tragic accident she’ll be involved in if she doesn’t listen to him, pretending becomes quite a challenge.
Suddenly mysterious accidents begin to happen to students in her school, and Rin has to wonder what length Matt is willing to go to prove his manga is real. Is it all a sham or is there really something that wants to see Rin and her new friends dead?

What do you think of the cover? I think it looks pretty creepy, but I don’t think it has much to do with the title. However, it does give up the same eerie vibe as the blurb. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fantastic day.

I agree, it is creepy but I think it should have at least like a shadow person to link to imaginary friend..sound interesting too. 🙂
I really think that blurb has the perfect hook 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Stormi!
The black, white & red colour scheme is still one of my favs, and I like the Asian inspired elements in the artwork. You’re right though about it not really fitting the title. Hmm… I wonder why they did it that way? There’s a definite creep factor though, I’ll give them that!
It does fit the title, Carmel. Everything is connected with the story and the title itself has a specific meaning. Have you ever read and/or watched Death Note? That should give you an idea…
I’m glad you like the colour scheme, that is one of my faves as well. 🙂
I agree, it really makes a cover stand out brilliantly.
thanks for stopping by, Carmel 🙂
Thanks for revealing my newest design, Lexxie!
What you see on the cover is a key element of the story and, trust me, it has to do with the title. I’m sure it will be clearer after you have read the book 😉
Oh, it goes very well with the blurb, Silvia, but since the title includes eyes… I was looking for eyes on the cover as well 🙂 I can’t wait to read it! And I actually had no idea it was your design, Silvia. Way to go!
Hehe, thing is the title shouldn’t be separated to try and analyse what this is about. I’m happy you’re going to read it and yes, it’s one of my designs! 😉
It really sounds like you’re teasing me, Silvia 😛
I am not usually one for creepy books, but something about this one graps my attention. The cover is so simple and empty, but still seems to say so much. And that blurb about an imaginary friend coming to live? It sounds intriguing.
I might add this to my to-read list or maybe wait and read some reviews first, because I would like to know how scary this book really is. I usually don’t enjoy books that are too scary, although I can deal better with creepy books then creepy movies. This book might just convince me to give the genre a try again.
I love creepy books, Lola 🙂 And I agree, the imaginary friend coming to live sounds amazing!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I think the cover for “Shinigami Eyes” should have, you know, eyes. But the cover has done a fantastic job of creeping me out in such a way that I want to read this book! 😀
I agree, Kiran 🙂 The creepiness is awesome.
Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for helping with the cover reveal of Shinigami Eyes. The meaning of the title will definitely become clearer as you read the story. 😀
That’s pretty awesome marketing, you know? Already, the blurb made me feel like I have to read Shinigami Eyes, and to have the title mean something I don’t actually get straight away makes me more impatient 😀
LOL Yes, Lexxie – fantastically creepy. I’m looking forward to reading this one too. 🙂
