Challenge Update – July

Posted 31 July, 2015 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Challenges / 9 Comments

If you follow my blog, you know I participate in several challenges, and sadly, I forgot to do an update post for June… I’m not forgetting for July, though, so here we go!

2015 Reading Assignment Challenge Update – July

For the Reading Assignment Challenge, I challenged myself to read 48 books – four each month – of books I’ve had on my kindle for a while. This is the only challenge where I have decided in advance which books I will read this year, and so, now it’s starting to get harder. However, I’m happy to share that I am on track with this challenge, I have used no bonuses or anything, four books from my list every month, and these are the books I’ve read and reviewed for June and July:

  1. Shakespeare’s Landlord by Charlaine Harris
  2. The Archived by Victoria Schwab
  3. Married Lovers by Jackie Collins
  4. Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers
  5. Devil’s Punch by Ann Aguirre
  6. Tempt the Stars by Karen Chance
  7. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  8. Rapture by J.R. Ward

2015 New Release Challenge Update – July

This is a challenge I host with Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews Oh My! As I often buy new releases, and am lucky enough to get quite a few eARCs every year, I figured I needed a challenge to stay on track with new releases as well. I have signed myself up as a new release enthusiast, which means 45+ books, and I want to reach 100 for 2015. Audiobook Challenge 2015

2015 Audiobook Challenge Update – July

I don’t listen to enough audiobooks, and so this challenge is to keep me listening rather than only reading myself. I’ve been off to a very slow start, but I’m starting to pick up speed, I just may make my goal of 12 audiobooks yet. Here are the two titles I’ve listened to in June and July:

  1. Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane
  2. Shards of Hope by Nalini Singh

Bookish Resolution Challenge - (un)Conventional Bookviews

2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge Update – July

My resolutions for this challenge are quite simple (but not that simple…) I want to read more of the books I own – not ARCs, but books I’ve purchased, or kindle freebies, or convention titles, and then write reviews! I am always better at writing reviews for my ARCs than I am for the books I have bought. I also want to do more discussion posts – still lagging a bit there, but I have written some this year. Yet another resolution is to listen to more audiobooks. And lastly, to stop smoking. Now, I’m still smoking, but I’m making progress on the other points. Here is a list of my own books that I have read and reviewed in June and July:

  1. The Mistress by Tiffany Reisz
  2. Kodiak’s Claim by Eve Langlais
  3. Angel in Armani by Melanie Scott
  4. Shakespeare’s Landlord by Charlaine Harris
  5. The Archived by Victoria Schwab
  6. Enemies on Tap by Avery Flynn
  7. Married Lovers by Jackie Collins
  8. Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers
  9. Hollywood on Tap by Avery Flynn
  10. Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane
  11. Tempt the Stars by Karen Chance
  12. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  13. Rapture by J.R. Ward

2015 TBR Pile Challenge - (un)Conventional Bookviews

2015 TBR Pile Reading Challenge Update – July

  2. Angel in Armani by Melanie Scott
  3. Shakespeare’s Landlord by Charlaine Harris
  4. The Archived by Victoria Schwab
  5. Enemies on Tap by Avery Flynn
  6. Married Lovers by Jackie Collins

LGBTChallenge2015

2015 LGBT Challenge Update – July

I love diversity in books, and reading stories that have LGBTQ characters is a way to have more diversity both in my books and in my life in general. I’m doing well on this challenge, too, and I have read some amazing books thanks to other participants! I’m kind of surprised that only one book is included for this challenge in June and July, but here goes:

  1. My Cowboy Promises by Z.A. Maxfield

COYER Scavenger Hunt - (un)Conventional Bookviews

COYER Scavenger Hunt Summer Challenge Update – July

And of course, I’m participating in the Summer COYER challenge. This time around, our wonderful hosts have added a scavenger hunt to make things even more interesting, and I am reading, reviewing, participating in the Facebook group, as well as some Twitter parties. I have challenged myself to read 50 books between June 20th and September 4th, and I’m pretty much on track I think. We are having a great time, and I love that even if the goal is to actually clean our e-readers, we all keep adding more books as well, as we read each other’s reviews 😉 Here’s a list of the books I’ve read for COYER so far this summer :

  1. Wasted Lust by J. A. Huss
  2. The Major’s Faux Fiancee by Erica Ridley
  3. Undertow by Michael Buckley
  4. The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent
  5. The Canterbury Sisters by Kim Wright
  6. The Leveller by Julia Durango
  7. The Piano Man Project by Kat French
  8. Resonance by Erica O’Rourke
  9. The Veil by Chloe Neill
  10. Never Never Part 2 by Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher
  11. Everything You And I Could Have Been If We Weren’t You And I by Albert Espinosa
  12. Trouble on Tap by Avery Flynn
  13. Devil’s Punch by Ann Aguirre
  14. Mercy Thompson: Hopcross Jilly by Patricia Briggs
  15. Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley
  16. Wicked Fall by Sawyer Bennett

  18. In the Fast Lane by Audra North
  19. Tempt the Stars by Karen Chance

  1. You’re doing well with your challenges. I only signed up for 2 challenges – the Audiobook one and the re-read one. I’m a little behind on my audiobook one, but not much. I’m glad you’re getting into audiobooks. I just LOVE them!
