COYER challenge: Acrostic Poem

COYER challenge: Acrostic Poem

Acrostic Poem Welcome to this Acrostic Poem mini-challenge for the COYER challenge 🙂 The Acrostic Poem challenge is hosted by Laura at Music Plus Books, you should go over to her blog to sign up and participate in her giveaway by writing your own Acrostic Poem! I just finished reading TRAGIC (and the sequels MANIC and PANIC) by J. A. Huss, and I truly loved those books so much! I gave all three five stars because they are complex, with amazing characters, pretty hard subject matter but still filled with hope and love. I was so into the story of these books that I actually stayed up until 3am two nights in a row just to read – even if […]

Clean Out Your E-Reader Challenge

Clean Out Your E-Reader Challenge

Clean Out Your E-Reader Challenge – November 2013 The Clean Out Your E-Reader Challenge is hosted by Berls at Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle at Because Reading is better than real life. The challenge takes place from November 1 through November 30, and anyone can sign up and participate. You need to be reading e-books, though, and those e-books should be either eARCs you got for free, Kindlle or Nook freebies or very cheap e-books. I know I often go a little click-happy on Netgalley, and I’m still surprised when someone accepts my request. This past week has been crazy, though, I went click-happy and was accepted for so many books I could use this challenge just for […]

Vacation is awesome, Internet connection not!

Vacation is awesome, Internet connection not!

I am on vacation in Spain, an the Internet connection I was supposed to have is wonky at best, inexistant at worst. I am not ignoring anyone, but it takes over ten minutes just to load a page, an a lot of times, I can’t comment at all. I will make up for it when I get back home in ten days. I have quite a few posts scheduled, luckily, and I hope you guys will stay with me! 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 15 – Blogger Mentors

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Blogger Mentors Welcome to my 15th (and last!) post in the 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge, hosted by April over at Good Books and Good Wine. I’m actually a little sad to see this challenge coming to an end. I’ve had a lot of fun answering April’s prompts, and I have really loved reading everybody else’s answers as well. I guess a lot of bloggers have already finished their blogger challenge now, seeing as I haven’t posted my prompts every day since we started, but I will check the linkies to see what you have come up with if you have posted yours already. Who is (are) your Book Blogger Mentor(s)? I’m not so […]

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 13

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 13

Describe One Underappreciated Book Everyone Should Read Welcome to my Day 13 in the 15 Day book blogger challenge. This fun challenge is hosted by April at Good Books and Good Wine, she came up with this because she was in a blogging slump, and I have enjoyed getting to know a lot of bloggers better during the challenge. The prompt of the challenge today is to describe one underappreciated book I think everyone should read. This is just one of those things that is really difficult for me, because I truly don’t think there is a single book that exists that everyone should read. Yes, there are a lot of books I think are underappreciated, and I would love […]

A Few Days in Paris

A Few Days in Paris

Last week, I left my husband and children behind to spend a few days in Paris. I left home very early in the morning, got on the train and spent my time reading until I arrived. Big surprise, no? This is the third year in a row that I go to spend time in Paris with my best friend, Colleen, who is from Toronto in Canada. We both enjoy watching the Tour de France on TV, and these past three years, we have had seats on the finish line on the Champs-Elysées to see our favorites speed past us in the final stage of the tour. We usually stay in a hotel called The Hotel Esmeralda, just across the […]

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 12

Welcome to my 12th post in this awesome Book Blogger Challenge that is hosted by April at Good Books and Good Wine. I can’t believe it’s coming to an end now. So far, I’ve had a lot of fun with these Challenge posts, and it’s great to read all the other particpating bloggers’ answers to each prompt. I feel like we’re all getting to know each other a lot better.   How to fight blogger fatigue? I think one good way to fight blogger fatigue is to participate in a blogger challenge like this one! Another is to just take a break! We get vacation from school and work, and I think taking a break from our blog every now […]

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 10

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 10

Welcome to my Day 10 post in the Book Blogger Challenge. As you probably already know, this fun challenge is the brain-child of April over at Good Books and Good Wine, where you can sign up on her linky to make sure other participants can find your daily post. It will be open for six months, so you don’t have to do this challenge right now 🙂 How do you choose which book to read next? This actually depends a bit for me. If I have been too click-happy on Netgalley, and have been accepted for a lot of the books I requested, I try to make sure I read three ARCs per week. I don’t think it’s fair of […]
