Blogtour and Review: Crystal Magic – Madeline Freeman

*I received a free ARC of Crystal Magic from Xpresso Booktours in exchange of an honest review* Welcome to my stop on the Crystal Magic Blogtour! I have my review and favorite quotes to share with you, and there’s a tour-wide giveaway for a signed copy of Crystal Magic open for US and Canadian readers, as well as a giveaway open internationally where the prize is an e-book copy of Crystal Magic. My Crystal Magic review: Crystal Magic shows how complicated Kristyl’s life is, both in her school up until her mother passes away, and afterwards. Things do become a little easier once she moves to live with her aunt Jodi to Clearwater, though. She finally gets some friends, and […]

Review: The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride – Cora Seton

Review: The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride – Cora Seton

*I received a free ARC of The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride from CrushStar Multimedia LLC via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Feel-good romance with a very sweet couple, The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride made my toes curl with happiness. My The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride review: Everything seemed to be against Ella and Austin’s relationship becoming something real in The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride, and even I thought for a while that they just might not make it! Ella fled Hollywood after yet another embarrassing run-in with her ex and his new girl-friend, and she found Austin’s ‘wife wanted’ add at the right time. When they first met at the airport, Austin simply brought her to the church […]

Review: Gluten-Free Family Favorites – Kelli and Peter Bronski

Review: Gluten-Free Family Favorites – Kelli and Peter Bronski

*I received a free ARC of Gluten-Free Family Favorites from The Experiment via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Easy-to understand recipes for lots of yummy food, that’s what you’ll find in Gluten-Free Family Favorites. My Gluten-Free Family Favorites review: The beginning of Gluten-Free Family Favorites explains the why behind the cookbook, as well as some very thorough break-downs on how to read labels, how to save money, servings, and what the kids can do to help when cooking. The recipes are easy to follow, and I really enjoyed that the measurements are both in US and European formats – of course, I can work out the differences myself, but it’s easier to have it all there in the […]

Audio Review: Unholy Ghosts – Stacia Kane

Audio Review: Unholy Ghosts – Stacia Kane

Unholy Ghosts in audioversion is even better than the written version, if that is even possible! Bahni Turpin’s narration brought the awesomeness to a whole new level, with her changes in pitch, pace, and the way she ‘was’ each of the characters I’ve come to know and love in the Downside Ghosts series. My Unholy Ghosts audio review: I am still new to audiobooks, but I think Unholy Ghosts managed to really whet my appetite, and to be able to live the story because someone talented tells it to me is such a great experience. Each time Turpin narrated Lex, I could hear the kind of teasing smile in her voice, and if Chess was upset about something, it could […]

Review: How the Scoundrel Seduces – Sabrina Jeffries

Review: How the Scoundrel Seduces – Sabrina Jeffries

*I received a free ARC of How the Scoundrel Seduces from Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* How the Scoundrel Seduces might just be my favorite Dukes Men story yet! Tristan is as wonderfully rakish and devilishly honest as I remember, and Zoe is one of the most pesky heroines I have ever encountered. My How the Scoundrel Seduces review: Sabrina Jeffries certainly continues to enchant me, because How the Scoundrel Seduces enchanted me, both the storyline, the plot and the characters drew me in from the first sentence, and I stayed glued to my kindle for all these pages, always wanting to know what would happen next. As usual, the language is really […]

Review: Come Back – J.A. Huss

Review: Come Back – J.A. Huss

Come Back took me totally by surprise, especially because Come didn’t completely do it for me. Harper and James are separated at the beginning of the story, because James has to pick up a ‘package’. And that ‘package’ turns out to be a person – Sasha whom I met in Slack. She’s a firecracker of a kid, and I love her. It was truly awesome to meet her again. Her snarky humor, all that knowledge – both secrets she shouldn’t really know, and the fact that she’s a great shooter – makes her a really good character to have on your side. My Come Back review: Who is on whose side? That’s a question I kept asking myself while reading […]

Deep in Death is a whirlwind of a story, and Shelby truly has her work cut out for her in this Shelby Nichols Adventure. It turns out Tiffany want Shelby’s help on a cold case, since Tiffany’s mom disappeared six years ago without a trace. The best place to […]

Review: No Limits – Lori Foster

Review: No Limits – Lori Foster

*I received a free ARC of No Limits form Harlequin HQN via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* No Limits is fast-paced, includes a great dose of suspense, and some sweet longing. My No Limits review: No Limits is the start of a new series, but it features characters from Foster’s Love Undercover series as well. Both Cannon and Yvette are really great characters, and since I’m a sucker for friends-to-lovers stories their relationship really did it for me. Yvette was in love with Cannon years ago, but he always pushed her away, now that they are both back in town, and kind of forced to live together thanks to Yvette’s grandfather’s will, Yvette wants to show him she’s […]

Review: I Want it That Way – Ann Aguirre

Review: I Want it That Way – Ann Aguirre

*I received a free ARC of I Want It That Way from Harlequin via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* I Want It That Way is the most beautifully heartbreaking story I have read so far in 2014. I laughed, cried big, fat tears, cheered, and rooted for Nadia, all the way! My I Want it That Way review: I Want it That Way is so different from all the other New Adult stories I have read lately! Yes, both Nadia and Ty struggled with their lives, doubts and how to deal with the real stuff. However, at the same time, they both came from loving families, where their parents were still married and supported them emotionally and  financially […]

Giveaway and Blogtour Review: What a Lady Craves – Ashlyn MacNamara

Giveaway and Blogtour Review: What a Lady Craves – Ashlyn MacNamara

*I received a free ARC of What a Lady Craves from Loveswept via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Welcome to my stop on Loveswept’s What a Lady Craves Blogtour. I have my review to share with you, as well as an excerpt and a tour-wide giveaway. My What a Lady Craves review: Henrietta is the kind of heroine I really love reading about in historical romance novels, and in What a Lady Craves, she is working hard to maintain her façade, especially when her ex-fiancée shows up unexpectedly – hurt, wet and almost drowned. At first, she decides she has to leave her employment as Lady Epperley’s paid companion. She quickly finds herself involved with helping Alexander, though, and […]
