STS #160 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #110

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. The Sunday Post #110 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This has been a very busy week, and the next two weeks will be even busier. My thesis supervisor agreed to let me do my defence in February, so I have to really get my turbo going now. I have most of the puzzle pieces I need, so now, they all have to be put together. I’ve had quite a bit of substitute work, and for the next two weeks, I’m replacing a teacher who is on paternity leave. I really look forward to seeing students a bit more than just an hour or two!

On Thursday evening, Mr. Lex and I were invited to a fun evening at the Geneva Fashion Week, and we had a really good time. It was nice to put on our evening wear and pretend we were part of the jet-set 😉

  1. I’m still on the fence on getting Too Late. Lately, I’m not liking Hoover’s stories so I don’t know. I’ll probably wait for more reviews of it and then make a decision.
I’m glad you now have a deadline! Good luck with your thesis! And it’s so great you got invited to a fashion show! I hope you had fun!

    • I have loved the latest Hoover, so I knew I had to get Too Late. I’ve heard that it’s VERY different from her usual stories, though. As she wrote it on Wattpad when she had writer’s block. She just went for it and had weird over the top things happen…
I’m very happy to have my deadline, too. I’ve made a lot of progress this week, and I today, I got to a point where it became so clear to me exactly what I have to do I can just sit down and write it now 🙂

  2. Ooh fashion week, that sounds so fun! I’ve never been to anything like that, glad you had a good time 🙂

Good luck with your defence! Stressful, I’m sure, but every day is a step closer to the goal! Have fun substituting and enjoy your new books!

    • When we were in New York City in September, it was during fashion week, and a lot of models and stylists were staying at the same hotel as us. But I had never been to a real runway show before, so it was definitely fun 🙂
I’m actually really happy about having a deadline for my defence. I finally cracked the code to my thesis today, so now, I can more or less sit down and just write the whole thing. It’s been fermenting in my mind for a long time, so I was really happy when the pieces just came together for me in my head!

  3. Hey you jet setter you ha ha! Hope you guys had fun (sounds like you did!). Good luck with teaching, and with preparing your defense. I bet you’ll be glad when that’s in the rear view mirror!

    Have a super weekend.

    • LOL it was fun for sure! But I was happy the photographers only stayed on us for a few minutes, to be honest!
I will be glad when it’s all in the rear mirror. I am ready to get on with the next step now , you know?
Have a super weekend yourself, Greg 🙂

  4. Freddy as always is in top form…I love the photo of him playing in the sun. I wouldn’t have anything to wear to a posh event…I live in leggings and T Shirts for the most part! I don’t even own a pair of actual shoes, just boots and trainers! Have a good week!

  5. Nice haul this week, but sounds like you’ll be busy teaching and working on your defense so not much reading time. 🙂 Fun night out for a dress up date.

Freddy is obviously a well loved guy with naps, playtime and handsome picture moments.

    Have a good week, Lexxie!

    • I’m be very, very busy. But it’s good, because I know now exactly how I want to do my writing, and so it’s more a question of jotting it all down.
I’m very happy to have so many teaching hours, because it’s been very quiet lately!
Have a great week yourself, Sophia 🙂

  6. Fashion Show how fun! It’s nice to get dressed up and go out with the fancy people. 🙂
I saw Too Late on Amazon and wasn’t sure if I would grab or not since I still haven’t read her book yet. It’s now going to be part of my 2017 reading assignment. Freddy is so cute. I love when the puppies sleep in the sun, Dexter does that a lot. It’s good on their bones to be in the sun.

I hope you have a fantastic week, Lexxie! Miss you! Happy Reading! oxoxo

  7. Oh Fashion Week, sounds like a great time. Did I miss some photos on your social media feeds I wonder?! Must check them out.

I’ve seen a bit of stuff re Too Late on social media – there seem to be some extreme reactions plus some debate it being free or not free or something…

    Have a lovely week!

  8. It’s lovely when something (thesis/novel/poem) finally comes together in your head and you know that when you sit down, you’ll more or less be able to just write. Best of luck with it and I’m with you – a deadline makes it all nicely clear. Lovely pics of Freddy and the fashion show sounds like great fun. Have a great week.

  9. Oh my gosh Freddy with that toy is adorable!! Too cute!
I’m super jealous of the audio of Winter Moon! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
Glad to hear your advisor is going to let you proceed with your thesis defense in February! I know that was what you wanted!
    Have a great week!

  10. Sounds like you had a pretty good week. I’m so happy for you and your thesis work! You’ve got this!! I know you’re going to be busy for the next couple of weeks, so know I’m thinking of you even if we can’t chat. 😉 And enjoy all your new reads!
As always, thanks for the Freddy pics. I think he’s made a wonderful addition to your family. 🙂
Happy Sunday, my dear! Miss you already and love you!! <3 {{hugs}} <3

  11. I love those opportunities to dress in formalwear and go out. That sounds like a good time.
Your puppy photos are adorable as always. I just love long hair little dogs. We have one, only ours is a chihuahua.
