The Sunday Post #105 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Busy week, as I had a meeting with the professor who is supervising my Master’s thesis. I had a problem with the screen on my laptop, and Apple was amazing, repaired in 1.5 days (actually, replaced!!) and my guarantee paid for it, even if it was my fault it was broken…

My mom is here this weekend, and it’s so much fun to see how Freddy interacts with her, especially because they’ve only met once before… I keep wondering if he feels that there’s something special with her – she is his daddy’s human mom, after all.

  1. Sounds like a good kind of busy with a meeting with your professor and a visit with your mom. That’s cute about Freddy really liking her. It would be interesting if it was because she is his daddy’s human mom.

Oh, nice haul. The Bronze Horseman! I’ve heard fantastic things about that one.

    Have a good week!

    • Yes, definitely a good kind of busy, Sophia 🙂 Freddy has already met my mom once before, but this time, he’s completely crazy about her 😀
I’ve heard fantastic things about The Bronze Horseman, too, so of course, I had to get it 😉

  2. Love the Freddy pics this week…you just can’t have too much Freddy! Looks like you got yourself a nice haul this time round…nice! Have a good weekend!

  3. Freddy is just so darn cute! I picked up the new Jill Shalvis book this week as well. I have had The Bronze Horseman on my TBR forever – I really need to get to it soon. It is wonderful that you were able to get your laptop fixed so quickly. Enjoy your new books and your visit with your mom.

I feel so bad that you’re COYER book just came this week. I was such a dodo and forgot to send the kindle prizes :/ oops. I hope you enjoy it though! I finally read a Karina Halle book and loved it, so now I’m interested every time I see her name. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your review 🙂

    I’m glad your screen got fixed! Yikes that would be a nightmare, especially in the middle of your thesis writing! And Freddy is too cute… I wonder if he smells his daddy on your mom? I always find myself wishing I knew what was going through Buffy’s mind. Gotta love our fur babies 🙂 Have a great weekend! {Hugs}

    • Don’t worry about it, Berls!! I know how time just kind of passes too quickly for all of us 🙂
I loved the Halle books I’ve read so far, and on top of that, she was a lot of fun to hang out with!!
You know, Freddy has never met his dad, but he might smell something that kind of ‘feels’ familiar to him?
      Have a great weekend yourself. {{{hugs}}}

  5. I’m very curious about Infinity because I really like Jus Accardo’s writing and her stories, but she has a habit of not finishing her series and it’s frustrating – I’ve been waiting for the next Denazen book since FOREVER. So, I’m going to wait until all books in this new series is out unless it’s a standalone.
I’m excited to read Accidentally on Purpose. I’m loving the covers of the series too!
Oh wow! That was terrific that your computer got repaired so quickly. I’m sure that was a relief for you.
I hope you have a great week ahead and happy reading!

    • I have only read one other Accardo book, and I really enjoyed it. I can’t remember if it was part of a series, though. It’s hard when authors kind of skip finishing a series, it’s frustrating to keep waiting on an instalment because the story isn’t completely finished.
I’m excited about Accidentally on Purpose, too. Jill Shalvis always manages to make me feel so good.
It was definitely a relief to have my computer repaired so quickly, I have a lot of writing to do these days for my thesis, and I want to do my best to finish it before the Christmas break.

  6. Good luck with the thesis….and how great to get your Apple replaced so quickly.

I love the cover of F*ck Love….and all the photos of Freddy and family.

    Enjoy your week!

    • I really wanted Infinity, so I was very happy when I was approved, Tiffany. And I’m so happy The Bronze Horseman is one of your all-time favorites!! That’s what Melissa – a blogger I met at the book fest in France a couple of weeks ago – told me, too. And she’s the reason why I had to get it 🙂
Thanks 🙂 I do need some luck too, to hold on to my motivation 😀

  7. Great customer service from Apple Lexxie! Very impressive. I hope Freddy (and the rest of you) enjoy your mother’s visit!

And Paullina Simons… I haven’t read her work for ages!

  8. Looks like you’re got some great new books this week. Awesome 😉
And how fun that Freddie is so good with your mom. I definitely think animals can tell if someone is special to there owner.
Good luck with your thesis. 😉 Have a great week and happy reading

  9. Apple can be nice sometimes with stuff, I think over the years they have gotten better with how things are treated. Sometimes they can be difficult when it comes to repairs.

Dexter loves, like LOVES, my mom. I think he knows she is another one of me. He goes crazy when she comes over, even if she was here for a couple hours leaves and comes back it’s like she was gone forever. Dogs are amazing little furry babies, they do remember when they meet someone because of the smell. Their noses can remember so much, it’s amazing.

Have a wonderful week, my beautiful friend! Miss you lots and Happy Reading! oxoxoxo

  10. Awwwe those pictures of Freddy are so cute! Maybe he smells his Dad on her luggage, clothes, person, who knows? It is kinda cool how family Freddy is tho. Thanks for sharing my post. Great haul this week and congrats on winning a COYER! Have a great week!

  11. Ohmygosh I love the puppy pictures! So cute! I never had a pet growing up (still don’t) and while I don’t think I’d want one in the near future, I love visiting my friends’ houses that have pets. 😀

I love the cover of the Accardo book! I didn’t know she was publishing something new. That is gorgeous!

I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lexxie! Have a fabulous week. =)

  12. Love Freddy pics! What a social little dog he is! That’s fantastic about Apple! I hate when technology stops working for any reason and it’s always so good to have it not be a massive hassle. The Jill Shalvis book looks great! Her Lucky Harbor series is one of my favorite contemporary romance series but I’m so behind on her books. Have a great week!

  13. My tech issues are neverending. Mostly my gadgets needs replacing, unfortunately I’m not making enough bank hahaha!

So excited you bought The Bronze Horseman, it’s one of my all time favorite novels ever! Wee! Excited for you to read it!

  14. I might be a little envious of the books you added to your shelf this week, wifey! But there is one we now have in common…The Bronze Horseman. Maybe we’ll have to experience that one together??
I hope you enjoyed your company! I’m sure you all had a great time with your mom visiting and it’s wonderful that Freddy was so accepting. He’s so dang adorable!!
Have a wonderful week, wifey! *BIG HUGS*

  15. I haven’t been by in forever, but one thing is the same, you still love Jill Shalvis books and I have yet to read one. I have two in paperback and I haven’t started. Looks like a good haul. Love the cover of the contest win. I’m on a Harry Dresden bent. Every time I think I need a break I put a hold on the next installment. Ghost Story is up and I saw you weren’t super thrilled with this one. Oh, great buddy review/chat with Brandee for The Pact!
