He twirled a lock of my dark hair between his fingers, bringing the soft tendril to his nose as he drew in a deep breath.
“Do I still smell like lemon cake?” I asked. My fingers wandered along the tight muscles on his arms, sliding underneath the sleeves of his light grey T-shirt.
He suddenly crouched low and ran his nose along the length of my body—close and inviting. God, I loved it when he did that.
What a strange thing to love about a man. The gesture felt erotic and the tiny hairs on my arms would stand up. With each inhale, his soft purr rumbled and I pulled his face close to mine, planting a soft kiss on his warm cheek. He caged me with arms that had once climbed a thirty-foot tree with blinding speed to rescue me—his agile body leaping from branch to branch as he held me tightly to him.
“Put your mouth on mine, Little Raven. I’m ready for a taste of lemon cake,” he said in a deep and tumbling voice.
“Maybe I’m not so sweet,” I whispered, wetting my lower lip with a sweep of my tongue.
Logan’s eyes followed every movement, and he licked his lips in response. “I want your mouth… on my mouth. Do it, or else I’ll have to find something else to kiss.”
Blogtour, Review and Giveaway!
*I received a free ARC of Gravity from Enchantress of Books Blogtour in exchange of an honest review *
In Gravity, Silver has to make some tough decisions in order to make sure the people she loves will stay safe. And she is ready to walk the walk! I have to admit I was a little frustrated with Silver because she did what her blackmailer told her to so very easily. While I can understand why she did it, I would have loved to be surprised by Silver – in that she told someone close to her what was up, so she could spare herself and others some heart-ache. Of course, there was a lot of other things going on in Gravity, both plot-wise and story-wise, and apart from this small frustration, Gravity exceeded all my expectations. And those expectations were pretty high!
If you have been to my blog before, you know I love the Mageri series, and Gravity is no exception. Silver is still strong, all the while needing to lean on her friends and loved ones. She is getting to understand her powers more, and the way she deals with this as well as the mystery of the laboratories she has learned of is really good. Simon is his usual hot, funny self, and Logan *sighs* yeah, Logan is perfect! The character who surprised me the most in Gravity was Justus, he really showed a lot of growth in this installment. He finally let Silver know him a little better, and when he realized some things about his past, he was also more apt at looking at his future and all the good things it might hold.
The writing is excellent, as always, and the plot-twists always takes me off-guard, even if I expect something to happen, it’s something different from what I imagined that does happen. Silver has to be very strong in Gravity, both because she is being blackmailed, and because some of her very close friends need her more than ever. Her work with Novis continues, and the more I learn about Novis, the more I like him. He is much more laid-back than Justus, and he really listens to Silver and takes her seriously. Another thing I really liked in Gravity is that we got to know Logan’s brothers better, and I love them all! Even if Logan is still my favorite.
At the very end of Gravity, my happy-sappy tears started falling – it was just so sweet and tender. I won’t say anymore – if you want to know why, you really need to read it yourself!
Logan wasn’t built like most men. His tall, V-shaped physique and sinewy muscle tone proved it. Not large muscles, just defined. Although it did seem like since I’d met him he’d filled in a little more. Broad shoulders, a confident gaze, and a unique face – masculine and predatory all at once. Especially with his deep-set eyes framed by a prominent bow. Yet when he smiled, it was nothing less than spectacular and I melted like butter in the hot sun.
“You changed your hair,” Novis said politely. “It’s quite lovely
I touched it and smiled generously. “You noticed.”
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my extended lifetime, Silver, it’s that you should always notice a woman’s hair and compliment her when it changes.”
Tall men love tiny cars. Levi was no exception. It’s one of those great mysteries in life, like where your missing sock went and why men in uniforms are always so damn sexy.
