Last year, I was so, so happy when I found the Blog Ahead Challenge hosted by the wonderful Anna @ Herding Cats and Burning Soup. Blogging can become a tiny bit stressful every now and then, and having a buffer of posts already scheduled really helps. Right now, I have one week of posts scheduled, and this summer, I had weeks where I had no posts scheduled at all. While I didn’t let that stress me out – I was on vacation, after all – now, I would like to get my calendar all fleshed out once more.
The Blog Ahead Challenge runs the whole month of October 2016, and anyone can participate. You do need to have a blog, though, but it’s open for veterans and newbies alike, reviewers and authors and it’s actually a lot of fun. We all help each other stay motivated, and we cheer each other on so that we can all get those posts scheduled.
The official sign-up post is linked to above, and there is also a Facebook Group where we can interact with each other both during the Blog Ahead Challenge and during the year. When we post something to do with the challenge, we use the #BlogAhead2016 hashtag.
Don’t be shy – none of us bites (much) – and it’s a fun way to stay on top of things when it comes to blogging. Plus, you might even make some new blogging friends.

Good luck, not sure if I will do this or not. Depends on how my classes are doing…lol. I do need to get some things done up like review drafts and such so I might try…lol.
Yeah, but you’ll be in the rhythm of your classes once October starts, to if you’re able to find the time, I’ll definitely cheer you on 🙂
Woots! Glad you’re joining in Lexxie! Now for both of us to tackle our posts. Whew!
I’m sure we’ll both do well, Anna 🙂 I’m very happy you’re hosting!
Sounds great to get som extra inspiration and motivation 🙂 Heisann! Nå er jeg endelig tilbake i bloggverdenen. Det har vært utrolig godt med en sommerpause, og nå er jeg fit for fight igjen. Håper du har hatt en super sommer 🙂 Klemmer i fleng <3
Extra motivation and inspiration is good. And having posts scheduled in advance is really nice 🙂
Så godt at du er tilbake igjen! Vi har hatt en flott sommer, og det er fremdeles litt for varmt for meg… 🙂
This is a great way to get a jump on the busy holiday season and stay on track with the blog posts. Shari and I usually do it. Good luck on the challenge, Lexxie!
Thanks, Sophia! I wonder if maybe this challenge is how we found each other’s blogs last year? 🙂
Actually, I think I found your blog when I was visiting Kimberly’s Sunday Post and clicked on your linky icon b/c I wanted to visit your blog already after seeing your friendly comments at other blogs on several occasions and seeing your fun Thirsty Thursday meme at Velvet’s vvb32 blog. 🙂 I like your Thirsty Thursday unique post, your reviews, your discussions, and your Sunday Posts.
I am the worst when it comes to blogging and scheduling. I never schedule post but I am trying to be better. since Nick is gone right now (and I’m lonely) I spent the last few hours scheduling a few posts. I have 6 posts scheduled and I’ve never had that many before. I need to look into this challenge!
Oh, I’m sorry you miss Nick so much, Neyreda! It’s good that you’ve been able to schedule some posts, though – way to go 🙂
I’m really horrible about blogging ahead. I’m lucky if I have ANY posts scheduled. I’m always a little in awe of people who can plan ahead. 🙂
Oh wow! I think I would feel stressed if I never had any posts ready in advance, Nicole. But it’s good that we can both do things the way we feel the most comfortable with.
I did this last year and it was nice to have some things scheduled ahead. I’d like to do it again this year though and hopefully do even BETTER. I know some people that were a month or so ahead, at least on most of their posts. I know some are a bit last-minute like The Sunday Post, etc.

I want to do a bit better this year, too. It was so nice to have posts scheduled a long time in advance. And you’re right, some posts need at least some good finishing touches before they can be fully scheduled.
Hi,
that sounds good, though, I am not sure if I understood it right. That is a challenge where you say how many posts you want to prepare FOR October or how many you want to prepare DURING October for the following weeks/months?
Thinking about signing up just out of curiosity to see how that works actually, but nor sure if I will fit in …
Hi Vi 🙂
The challenge is for the posts we write and scheduled DURING the month of October for the following weeks / months. And you should sign up, even if you don’t make the full 30 posts, it will be fun!

I’m definitely going to do this! I need to get my blog back on its feet and creating a buffer of posts would be the key! Good luck to all of us 🙂
I was on the fence about joining this year since I didn’t do too well last time round, but figured what the heck and jumped in! I need to get back into posting on a regular basis, so this should help me get back on my feet. Good luck!
Hi! I’m participating in this challenge too and I’m so excited! It will definitely help motivate me to plan ahead and actually schedule posts for once! Good luck to you! 😀
